The numbers behind Connah’s Quay Nomads’ 999 JD Cymru Premier games

Connah’s Quay Nomads’ trip to Newtown on Boxing Day will be the club’s 1000th game in the JD Cymru Premier. Discover some of the key numbers behind their first 999. 

2 – Connah’s Quay Nomads won back-to-back league titles under Andy Morrison in 2019/20 and 2020/21. They have finished as runners-up on a further three occasions. 

4 – The Nomads are the fourth club to reach 1000 matches in the JD Cymru Premier after Aberystwyth Town and Newtown marked the milestone in 2021/22 and The New Saints did so in 2022/23. 

9 – The number of managers who have taken charge of the Nomads on a permanent basis in the JD Cymru Premier. Neville Powell, from 1993 to 2007, has been the longest-serving.

10 – The Nomads’ biggest league win is 10-0, which they have achieved on two separate occasions: first against Cemaes Bay in January 1998 and then almost exactly two years later against Conwy Borough. 

347 – Title-winning captain George Horan has appeared in more JD Cymru Premier matches for the Nomads than any other player. 

428 – The Nomads have won the third-most matches in JD Cymru Premier history, behind The New Saints and Bangor City. They have drawn 230 matches and lost on 341 occasions. 

1,514 – The Flintshire side also rank in third place for the number of points earned in JD Cymru Premier history. However, they are only four behind second-place Bangor City. 

1,587 – The amount of goals scored by Connah’s Quay Nomads in the JD Cymru Premier. In contrast, they have conceded 1,405.
