Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru squad confirmed for UEFA Regions’ Cup intermediate round

Andy Hill has confirmed his 16-man Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru squad for the intermediate round of the 2024/25 UEFA Regions’ Cup.

Hill’s team of South Wales-based players will compete in Group 3 at the tournament between 13-19 September, having triumphed 4-1 on aggregate over their Northern counterparts across two legs in May.

The UEFA Regions’ Cup is a unique amateur tournament held every two years which features players who have never competed at any professional level.

All of Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru’s intermediate round matches will take place in Serbia, beginning against West Slovakia on 13 September, before they face FA of Vojvodina on 16 September and North Macedonia Amateur on 19 September.

The winner of the group will progress to finals which are set to be held in the first two weeks of either June or July 2025 and hosted by one of the qualifiers.

To be available for selection for Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru, players must never have signed a professional contract and never have played a single minute in any top-flight league. They must be at least 19 years old and no older than 40.

Players do not need to be Welsh but must have been registered in their region for a period of at least two years.

10 different JD Cymru South clubs are represented in Hill’s squad, with the manager selecting three of his Trefelin players – Thomas Krauze, Cian Goldsworthy and Roan Piper.

Carmarthen Town’s Cam Strinati, Alex Bonthron of Cwmbran Celtic and Pontypridd United forward Liam Eason all scored in May’s two-legged play-off and keep their places.

There are also call-ups for three players from the Ardal South West – South Gower goalkeeper Dion Carroll, Cefn Cribwr captain Ross Hooper and Swansea University defender Noah Osborne.

Carroll and Hooper are two of four new additions to the squad from May’s play-off, alongside Goldsworthy and Llanelli Town skipper Joe Hopkins.
