The Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru squads for North Wales and South Wales have been confirmed ahead of their UEFA Regions’ Cup play-off matches.
The two sides will meet in a pair of games next month for the right to represent Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru in the intermediate round of the 2026/27 UEFA Regions’ Cup in Bosnia-Herzegovina in September.
The first leg will take place at Trefelin’s Ynys Park on Saturday 2 May (KO 15:00), before the second leg at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium, home of Airbus UK Broughton, on Saturday 9 May (KO 15:00).
To be selected, players must never have signed a professional contract and never have played a single minute in any top-flight league. They must be at least 19 years old and no older than 39. Players do not need to be Welsh but must have been registered with the Football Association of Wales for a period of at least two consecutive years.
Andy Hill’s South Wales were victorious in the play-offs two years ago and the Trefelin boss has picked a number of players who represented Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru in Serbia in 2024. That includes Cambrian United’s promotion-winning trio Josh Allen, Liam Eason and Cam Strinati. Hill has also selected two of his Trefelin title winners in Morgan Thomas and Roan Piper.
Cardiff Draconians and Caerau Ely are best represented in the South Wales squad with four players each, while the only player who has spent the campaign outside of the JD Cymru South is goalkeeper Jac Lewis who has been part of Evans & Williams’ title-chasing side in the Ardal South West this term.
Newtown manager Nathan Leonard has kept to JD Cymru North players in his North Wales squad, with Caersws and Leonard’s former club Guilsfield best-represented with four players each.
Holywell Town defender Danny Sullivan is the only player in the squad to have won promotion to the top-flight this season, while the only player that Leonard has selected from his Newtown team is forward Jamie Hyne.
