      22. HALF-TIME: Croatia 0-1 Cymru

A positive opening 45 minutes for Cymru as they head into the break with a deserved 1-0 lead. Croatia threatened early on but Cymru have been on top since breaking the deadlock inside the 14th minute when Fishlock rifled the ball home off the underside of the crossbar. They could have added to their lead as Powell and Ingle both enjoyed opportunities to test the Croatia goalkeeper, while Holland came close with a free-kick at the end of the first half.

Croatia’s Markovic has threatened for the hosts but Cymru’s defence have stood up to the challenge and did well to contain her in the first half. Wilkinson’s side were pegged back right at the death in their last outing against Ukraine and will know they will need to find a second goal in the second half.

      23. We’re into the four additional minutes at the end of the first half.

      24. Rowe wins Cymru a free-kick in a dangerous position. Holland steps up to take it and sees her effort pushed away for a corner.

      25. Markovic breaks away quickly for Croatia and looks to get a shot away but Roberts does well to throw her body in the way of the effort.

      26. Yellow card

        IZABELA LOJNA

      27. RECORD-EQUALLING GOAL

Fishlock celebrates scoring her record-equalling 44th Cymru goal.

      28. Two chances in quick succession for Ingle as her first effort is palmed behind for a corner before the resulting set-piece sees her header held by Bacic.

      29. Barton has the ball in the net for Cymru with a first-time effort but she’s flagged for offside.

      30. There’s a stoppage in play for a water break due to the high temperature in Karlovac.

      31. Cymru look to double their lead and go close as Powell stings the palms of Bacic. Rhian Wilkinson will be enjoying what she’s seeing as her side have been on top since breaking the deadlock.

      32. GOAL!

James’ cutback finds Fishlock, who smashes the ball in off the underside of the crossbar. Great start for Cymru!

      33. Goal

        FISHLOCK Jessica Anne

      34. A quiet opening 10 minutes. Cymru have put crosses into the penalty area but have been unable force any saves out of Croatia goalkeeper Bacic so far.

      46. HOLLAND TO CAPTAIN CYMRU

Cymru head coach Rhian Wilkinson has confirmed that midfielder Ceri Holland will captain Cymru against Croatia on Friday evening.

Speaking at her pre-match press conference, Wilkinson said: “I think I’ve been quite clear that this team is full of leaders. We have many different types of captains and I think we’ve had fantastic leadership. Hayley Ladd’s worn it, Angharad James has worn it, Jess has worn it and Ceri’s wearing it now.

“We have other captains on the team as well and it’s coming down to when I will be naming the captain. I think this is an opportunity to highlight another leader on our team, give her a chance and the honour to wear the armband for her country. There’s one person that wears the armband but I would say there’s many more captains on the field.”

Holland said: “Yeah, it’s a big honour. I think it was very unexpected but it’ll definitely be one of the biggest honours of my career to lead out this team and these girls. But as Rhian says, I think this team is full of captains and on the day it’s just about coming together as a team and we’re all leaders at the same time.

“I think I just go out there with the mindset of trying to help the team as much as I can in every game I can with my performances. There’s huge leaders in this team and huge players and I’m so excited to continue to learn off those players. I still kind of see myself as somebody learning from them, but it’s obviously a massive honour.”
