      3. MATCH SUMMARY

Following an early scare, Cymru fought back with a convincing performance to win this match against Lithuania in the UEFA U21 Championship qualifiers.

The visitors shocked the home crowd when they took a 12th minute lead through Motiejus Burba.

It was a thunderous strike but Lithuania’s lead didn’t last long as Cymru equalised moments later.

Luke Harris got the assist as he set Rubin Colwill free to dribble into the box where he placed the ball into the net for 1-1.

Lithuania looked more dangerous in the second half and Gustas Jarusevičius nearly regained the lead but Evan Watts was equal to the effort and made the save.

The match was won after Lewis Koumas came off the bench to round off a lovely move with a sublime finish by placing the ball inside the righthand post.

It was a deserved win for Matty Jones’ team who dominated the majority of the match.

The attention of Cymru U21 now turns to a friendly against Morocco at the Mardan Sports Complex in Aksu, Turkey on Tuesday (26 March).
