Cardiff Met maintained top spot in the Genero Adran South with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Penybont at Cyncoed Stadium.Â
Esme Kilburn-Thompson tapped home from Liv Barnes’ cross to put Met ahead in the 23rd minute before the striker doubled her tally with another close range finish 16 minutes later.
Those two goals seemed to have put Met in control, but Bont scored twice in quick succession at the end of the first half through Poppi Coggins and Maddie Priday to level the scoreline.
The Archers put that setback behind them though, as Kilburn-Thompson set up Anna Houghton to restore the hosts’ lead seven minutes after the restart. Teenage substitute Hannah Rayner, making just her third Genero Adran South appearance, put the game to bed with a composed finish beyond Georgia Tarullo in the closing stages.

Met remain top of the table on goal difference, narrowly ahead of Pure Swansea, who maintained pressure on the league leaders with a 3-0 victory over Llanelli Town at the SU Sports Centre.
Chris Church’s side opened up a two-goal lead after just 15 minutes played thanks to strikes from Rachel Cullen and Annabel Stokes. Kalena Walters-Wright scored her second goal in as many games on the hour mark to wrap up the Swans’ biggest league win in almost a year.
Ellis Lunn scored a hat-trick as Cascade secured back-to-back victories with a 5-2 triumph over Carmarthen Town at the CCB Centre.
Liv Townsend put Cascade ahead in the 12th minute, but Ophelia Jenkins made no mistake slotting past Hollie Williams to bring Carmarthen level just after the half hour mark. However, Lunn restored Cascade’s lead on the stroke of half-time with her first goal of the afternoon.
Lunn and Chrystalla Moreton scored quickfire goals at the start of the second half to put the hosts in a commanding position. Jenkins found the net again for Carmarthen with 10 minutes remaining, but Cascade had the last say as Lunn completed her hat-trick in stoppage time. Cascade are now out of the relegation zone, moving two points clear of Llanelli Town and Taffs Well.
