Llangefni Town and Wrexham Foresters to compete for spot in the Genero Adran North

Llangefni Town and Wrexham Foresters will compete for promotion to the Genero Adran North.

Promotion to the Genero Adran North is on the line in the tier three play-off between Llangefni Town and Wrexham Foresters on Sunday 31 May (KO 14:30).

Maes Tegid in Bala hosts the winner-takes-all clash between two sides who have had outstanding campaigns.

Llangefni Town were invincible in their title-winning season in the NWC Llandudno Kia Women’s League, winning 15 out of their 16 games. Their main attacking threat will come from Amber Brown, with the forward picking up 22 goals this season.

Wrexham Foresters also went unbeaten on their way to lifting the title in the Central Wales North Ladies League, scoring 162 goals in the process. Kirstie Kural contributed with 52 goals herself and the former Connah’s Quay Nomads star will be one to look out for.

Both sides could have faced each other earlier this season had they not shared similar fates in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup, being knocked out by Llandudno. Llangefni lost on penalties in the first round after a 2-2 draw, while Wrexham Foresters lost 3-1 in the second round.

Llangefni had a taste of tier two football earlier this season when they received a wildcard spot in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage. Dan Gregg’s side lost against Bangor and Llanfair United, but concluded the group with a 4-1 victory over Flint Town United. They also earned a 1-0 win away at Llanfair in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup.

Foresters, who were only founded last year, have also enjoyed victories against Genero Adran North opposition this season, triumphing 4-2 against Felinheli and 5-0 against Flint Town United in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup.

Tickets to the play-off match will be available to buy on the gate, costing £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
