As the countdown to the 2026/27 season continues, there has been no shortage of news across the Genero Adran Leagues in recent weeks.
Genero Adran Premier
Wrexham added two more players in time for their European campaign, as midfielder Bella Reidford joined on a permanent deal from Stoke City, whilst central defender Lydia Sallaway signed on a loan deal from Aston Villa.
Cardiff City made their first signings of the summer transfer window, with central defenders Ella Hilliard and TJ Gauvain joining the club from Bristol Rovers, and wingers Gillian Keenan and Kate Oakley joining from Treaty United and Derby County respectively. More recently, versatile full-back Anna Houghton has made the switch to Cardiff City, from Cardiff Met.
Hilliard made her debut for the Bluebirds when she was 15 in the Welsh top flight, before moving across the border to Bristol City, going onto to make a senior breakthrough at a number of clubs in the FA Women’s National League.
Former Republic of Ireland youth international Keenan makes the switch to the Genero Adran Premier, with experience at the top end of the League Of Ireland, including a particularly successful spell at Athlone Town.
Speaking to Cardiff City TV, Keenan said: “I’m very happy to be here, it’s a lovely city. I’ve spent the past week trying to figure my way around the place. I’ve enjoyed myself being here so far. I did a fitness session last week with a few of the girls and got to know them too. I’m happy that I’m here and looking forward to getting going.”
A promotion winner with Cardiff Met last season, Houghton has been a standout at every club she’s been at, having also previously represented Penrhyn Bay, Cyncoed and Barry Town United.
Houghton said on joining The Bluebirds: “I’m really excited to be here. I think it’ll help to have that experience of playing in the Adran Leagues behind me. I’ve played against Cardiff City numerous times and I’m looking forward to representing the Club. I’ve watched the Club play at this stadium a few times and I’ve always wanted to take that step up. I’m here now and I’m so excited about it.”
Another outgoing at Met is their top scorer from last season, Esme Kilburn-Thompson. The 22-year-old forward was another vital player in Met’s promotion, but now makes the move back to the English FA Women’s National League with Division One South West side Gwalia United.
Also joining Gwalia is Barry Town United midfielder Anya Grunewald. The Cymru U19 international had joined The Linnets during the 2025/26 campaign from Briton Ferry Llansawel, and will pursue a new adventure in the FAWNL.
It’s a first full pre-season for Rhys Jon James at Aberystwyth Town, and the Seasiders boss has made his first signings of the summer.
Central defender Llio Henshaw arrives after nine years at Genero Adran North side Felinheli, while 19-year-old goalkeeper Anna Phelps, who has previously been on international camps with the Thailand national team, joins from Pontypridd United. Finally, Chloe Edwards signs for the Seasiders from the FAW Girls’ Academy South.
There have been more big names through the door for The New Saints, as former Cardiff City duo Nieve Rowbottom and Helen Evans make the switch to Park Hall, with the latter returning to the club.
Two exits from TNS in recent weeks have seen young midfielder Jasmine Cooper move to Hednesford Town, whilst forward Charlotte Crees has made the switch to Nantwich Town.
2026/27 Fixture Release Days confirmed
There have been no new signings at Swansea City as of yet, but in incredibly encouraging news, the club have announced a significant immediate investment into the Genero Adran Premier side. After a sale of a stake in the team, the move brings direct investment into the women’s side, helping to further develop and professionalise the setup. Having transferred to a new limited company, the new organisation will be headed up by chairwoman, Jenine Cravatt.
Cravatt said on becoming chairwoman: “It is an incredible honour to become part of the next era of Swansea City Women. I have tremendous respect for the club’s history and the foundations that have been built, and I believe this investment reflects a long-term commitment to its future.
“My hope is that every girl in Swansea and across Wales sees Swansea City Women as a club where she belongs, where she can dream without limits, and where she believes anything is possible. It’s her turn.”
Genero Adran North
Newly-promoted Wrexham Foresters have made ten signings ahead of their debut season in the Genero Adran North.
Their first of those was Chloe Ankers, who makes the return to playing in a playing/coaching capacity at Kirstie Kural’s side. The 19-year-old goalkeeper departed top-flight Wrexham this year, and will now make her mark in tier two.
TNS youth midfielders Lexi Jones and Ruby Smith make the switch to The Foresters, with Madison Miles also strengthening the middle of the park after coming across from Alvechurch. Defenders Ffion Davies, Freya Hayward and Mia Thomas also sign from The Saints, whilst clinical goalscorer Evie Wigley, who scored in the Bute Energy U16s Cup Final for TNS, makes the switch.
Two signings for The Foresters come across from Shrewsbury Up & Comers, who won the Shrewsbury FA Women’s League last season. Midfielder Jess Sayers and forward Tania Prior, with the latter having represented Portugal at U19s level earlier in her career, both land in Welsh football this summer.
It’s been a busy start to the window for champions Connah’s Quay Nomads. After the departures of Polly Wild-McGregor, Elana Harley, Alisha Whitehead-Hughes and Megan Andrews across the border, there have been two more incomings in recent days to go alongside the already signed Sienna Perry.
After a brilliant season at Llandudno in her first senior campaign, Seren Cashen makes the move to Connah’s Quay Nomads. The former Wrexham and TNS youth midfielder played every game for Llandudno last season, contributing at both ends of the pitch.
Also signing for Andy Griffiths’ side is TNS and former Wales youth forward Non Williams, who particularly impressed last season in the Genero Adran U19s League.
Bangor City 1876 have completed the signing of another winger, with Hannah Owen making the move from Llandudno, adding to the already signed Ellie Sian Jones. Highly rated for her time at Llangefni Town, Owen becomes Bangor’s second signing following the women’s team coming under the club structure.
Having left Bangor in recent weeks, Aron Griffith has a new club, joining CPDM Y Felinheli’s coaching staff for the 2026/27 campaign.
Formerly of Llanberis, Griffith said on joining the Genero Adran North side: “As a local lad who lives close to Felin, it was a great opportunity. Knowing Aaron (Jones-Evans) over the years of playing against each other, I believe we’ll work great with each other.”
Also formerly of Llanberis, no less the founder of the side back in 2019, Sioned Phillips has become Bangor’s latest signing. Most recently of Llandudno, the midfielder lifted the Genero Adran North title in 2022 and 2024 with The Seasiders, and becomes Bangor’s third signing of the summer.
Having also won the league title with Llandudno, goalkeeper Meg Robinson-Skelly has joined North Wales Coast Llandudno Kia League side Llangefni Town. The shot-stopper makes the move to Llangefni alongside Bangor City 1876 winger Ffion Thomas and striker Jess Jones, as all three players depart the Genero Adran North.
Genero Adran South
The signings have begun in the Genero Adran South, with Carmarthen Town making several moves so far this summer.
Stacey Webber and Ellie-Jade Latronico have both joined The Old Gold from Llanelli Town, with both players having previously represented Swansea City.
It’s a Swansea theme for the new incomings at Carmarthen, with youngsters Alix Green, Esmee Kennelly and Poppy Delaney all joining the club, whilst winger Megan Roberts, who last played for Swansea in Welsh football, returns to the Genero Adran Leagues, and former Swansea youngster Izzy Watkins joins from Cascade.
Recent Cymru U17s international Delaney will write a new chapter with Carmarthen, with the goalkeeper competing in the UEFA Women’s Under 17 Championship last year.
Delaney said on joining Carmarthen: “I’m really looking forward to the season ahead with Carmarthen Town. I’m excited to be part of a great team and hope to push myself and give my best for the club.”
Carmarthen have also completed the signing of midfielder Naomi Coulson, from SWWGL Combined side Pontarddulais Town. Coulson came through the youth at Tottenham Hotspur, before moving to South Wales to represent Cardiff Met and Barry Town United. She also had a brief spell with Swansea University.
There has been movement at Pure Swansea from Chris Church, who has completed the signings of striker Ffion Varney and goalkeeper Verity Jones.
Varney joins from Llanelli Town, having been clinical in front of goal during her time at The Reds and her previous club Pontarddulais. Former Cymru youth goalkeeper Jones makes the switch from Genero Adran South champions Cardiff Met, with the 18-year-old shot-stopper helping Met to an instant top flight return.
