Wrexham Foresters were victorious on their Genero Adran North debut as they secured a 3-0 victory over Berriew at Stansty Park on Sunday.
The newly-promoted Foresters got their league campaign up and running seven minutes before half time as Maizie Johnson scored from the penalty spot. Johnson turned provider for Foresters’ second goal shortly after the hour mark as she delivered into player-manager Kirstie Kural, who fired home to give her side comfort.
Savannah Miller, who scored 27 goals for the Foresters in the third tier last season, wrapped up all three points late on with a calmly converted penalty of her own.
Cascade made an outstanding start to the new Genero Adran South season as Nicole Fenton’s hat-trick inspired a 9-2 victory over Pontypridd United at USW Sports Park.
Fenton set up both Ellis Lunn and Trinity Reakes before scoring her first of the afternoon as Cascade opened up a three-goal lead inside just 11 minutes.
Teenager Gwenllian Crane immediately pulled a goal back for Pontypridd, but Chrystalla Moreton restored the three-goal cushion before Lunn and Fenton both scored again to make it 6-1 at half time.
Crane gave Pontypridd another lifeline early in the second half, but that did not faze Cascade at all as Lisa Owen and Moreton scored within a seven minute period to extend the visitors’ advantage. Fenton completed her hat-trick in the 78th minute to haunt her former club, whom she once won promotion to the Genero Adran Premier with. The statement victory was also Cascade’s biggest win in the Genero Adran South since March 2024
Megan Clarke marked her Penybont debut in the best way possible as her hat-trick helped secure an entertaining 5-3 win over newly-promoted Cambrian United at the Dragonbet Stadium.
Mae Taylor scored from Layla Williams’ cross to put Bont ahead eight minutes into the contest shortly before Clarke scored her first goal for the club to double the advantage.
Niamh Duggan marked her return to Cambrian with a goal to half the deficit on 25 minutes, but Clarke completed her first half hat-trick to ensure Bont took a healthy lead into the break as the teenager saw her effort deflect past Alisha Young before she found the bottom corner with another composed finish.
Ruby Spear, aged just 16, came off the bench to score just five minutes into her first ever Genero Adran South appearance to give Cambrian a glimmer of hope, but Clarke set up Mikaela Hood to all but confirm victory for Bont.
Cambrian netted their third goal thanks to Kelly Isaac’s free-kick in the 88th minute, but it was too late for the away side to stage a comeback.
Rianne Jones scored a second half hat-trick as Pure Swansea came from behind to edge past Carmarthen Town 3-2 at the SU Sports Centre.
Carmarthen took a narrow lead into half time as Ophelia Jenkins set up her sister Flavia Jenkins, who fired into the bottom corner with just seven minutes on the clock. However, Pure Swansea needed just three minutes after the restart to get back on level terms as Jones met Poppy Brown’s cross and curled past Ffion Ashman.
Jones completed the turnaround for the Swans midway through the second half as she volleyed home the rebound from Brown’s initial effort which struck the crossbar. Jones clinched her hat-trick on 71 minutes with another composed finish from another Brown assist.
Elliw Williams halved the deficit for Carmarthen with a terrific free-kick on the edge of the area to set up an interesting finish with four minutes remaining, but the Swans held on to secure an opening day win.
