Rosie Hughes scored twice as reigning Genero Adran North champions Connah’s Quay Nomads clinched their first league win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Llanfair United at Mount Field on Sunday.
The Nomads showed their quality to open the scoring on 15 minutes as Phoebe Ellis played a pinpoint ball over the top for Hughes, who rounded Lucie Gwilt and converted into an empty net.
Llanfair found an immediate equaliser as Sioned Roberts headed home a rebound from just a yard out, but the all-time Genero Adran North top scorer Hughes restored Connah’s Quay’s lead late on as she latched onto Sienna Perry’s through ball and produced another composed finish when one-on-one with Gwilt. Andy Griffiths’ side defended well in the closing stages to secure a vital three points.

Newly-promoted Wrexham Foresters climbed to the top of the table with an 8-0 victory over Llandudno at the Go Goodwins Stadium.
The Foresters opened up a four-goal lead inside just 18 minutes as player-manager Kirstie Kural bagged a brace either side of strikes from Jess Sayers and Ruby Smith.
Sayers and Smith also doubled their tallies later in the first half to give the visitors clear daylight heading into the break. Sayers set up substitute Keri Sampson for a seventh goal near the hour park before Anna Thomas capped off a high-scoring win late in the day with her sixth goal of the season.

Kelsey Davies scored a hat-trick as Flint Town United returned to winning ways with a statement 7-2 victory over Felinheli at the Essity Stadium.
Davies scored twice inside 19 minutes to put Flint two goals to the good, but Felinheli bounced back to level the scoreline at half time thanks to strikes from Llywela Edwards and Angharad Jones.
Despite squandering their early two-goal lead, Flint came flying out of the blocks in the second half and pulled away from their opponents as Rubie Davies’ own goal followed by a quickfire brace from Shannon Hobbs made it 5-2 on the hour mark.
Davies completed her hat-trick in the 71st minute before she set up substitute Laura Williams, who netted her eighth goal in all competitions to round off a terrific second half display from Rebecca Eagles’ side.

Bangor City 1876 picked up their first win of the season as they came from behind to triumph 5-2 against Berriew at the Bangor City Stadium.
Hannah Richards gave Berriew an early lead in the sixth minute, but Holly Owen-Roberts’ double, along with goals from Mia Roberts and Cerys Parry saw Bangor turn the game around to lead 4-1 at half time.
Ellie Jones added her name to the scoresheet three minutes after the restart to all but confirm victory for the hosts. Berriew’s Gemma Jones scored for the second game in a row in the closing stages, but her effort was only a consolation as Bangor moved up to fifth in the table.
