Genero Adran Leagues Games to Watch: 28 February – 1 March

Another crucial weekend awaits in the Genero Adran Leagues, including a huge clash at the top of the Genero Adran Premier. Here are the key games to keep an eye on.

Genero Adran Premier – Cardiff City v Wrexham (Saturday, 3pm)

A week on from their meeting in the Genero Adran Trophy Final, Cardiff City and Wrexham lock horns once again, this time at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.

Wrexham won on penalties last Sunday to claim their first major trophy but now turn their attentions to hunting down Cardiff at the top of the league table. The Bluebirds currently sit four points clear of the Red Dragons, but Jenny Sugarman’s side have a game in hand.

Cardiff made it five consecutive league wins with a 5-1 victory away at The New Saints to begin Phase Two a fortnight ago – Iain Darbyshire’s side have now scored 15 goals in their last three league games. Wrexham have won their last five matches in all competitions and are building momentum as we reach the business end of the season.

Cardiff forward Fiona Barry stole the headlines in both Phase One meetings between the two sides, scoring a late penalty to salvage a 1-1 draw in October before netting in stoppage time to secure a dramatic 2-1 win last month.

Genero Adran Premier – Pontypridd United v Aberystwyth Town (Sunday, 2pm)

Pontypridd United will be relegated from the Genero Adran Premier if they lose to Aberystwyth Town at USW Sports Park on Sunday.

The Dragons have endured a difficult return to the top-flight and remain without a point from their opening 14 matches. Their last league outing saw them suffer an 8-0 home defeat to The New Saints, meaning they sit 13 points adrift of safety.

Aberystwyth Town triumphed away at Pontypridd United on the opening day of the season

Aberystwyth currently sit seventh in the table, three points adrift of Briton Ferry Llansawel and Barry Town United at the top of the Plate Conference. The Seasiders lost 3-0 away at Barry in their Phase Two opener, which stretched their winless run to six matches in all competitions.

Aber claimed a 2-0 win away at Ponty on the opening day of the season, before Rebecca Mathias’ late penalty clinched a 2-1 victory at Park Avenue in November.

Genero Adran North – Flint Town United v Berriew (Sunday, 2pm)

Flint Town United will move up to second in the Genero Adran North if they avoid defeat to bottom-of-the-table Berriew at the Essity Stadium on Sunday.

The Silkwomen enjoyed a perfect February with wins away at Llandudno (3-2) and Bangor (3-1) and will now be searching for three consecutive league victories for the first time since being promoted to the second tier.

Berriew have dropped to the bottom of the table, below sixth-place Bangor on goal difference but with two games in hand. Regina Hanratty’s side have suffered three consecutive losses to Connah’s Quay Nomads, Llanfair United and Felinheli so far in 2026.

Zoe Stopford scored twice before Jennifer Haynes netted a stoppage-time winner to give Flint a dramatic 3-2 victory over Berriew in October’s reverse league fixture.

Genero Adran South – Taffs Well v Cardiff Met (Sunday, 2pm)

There will be implications at both ends of the Genero Adran South as leaders Cardiff Met travel to face bottom side Taffs Well at Rhiw Dda’r.

Cardiff Met won 2-0 at home over title rivals Carmarthen Town a fortnight ago to make it five consecutive league wins. The Archers are currently three points clear of second-place Pure Swansea, while also holding a game in hand. Striker Esme Kilburn-Thompson has found form in her side’s winning run, scoring six goals in five games.

Taffs Well have lost their last six league games and have failed to score a single goal during that run, stretching back to November. Chris Hooper’s side were beaten 3-0 away at Pure Swansea last time out.

Carys Gittins, Anna Houghton and Scarlett Davies were all on target as Cardiff Met picked up a comfortable 3-0 win over Taffs Well in December’s reverse league fixture at Cyncoed.
