Genero Adran Leagues statement: Caldicot Town Ladies

Following constructive dialogue between the two parties, The Football Association of Wales has received notification from Caldicot Town Ladies of their withdrawal from the Genero Adran South.

As a result, in conjunction with the FAW Women’s Pyramid Regulation 4(d), a vacancy arose in the Genero Adran South, which the members of the FAW National Leagues Board considered.

Pyramid Regulation 4(d) states:

Subject to the Regulation 5 below, any application to fill a vacancy or otherwise compete in the Pyramid Tiers 1 – 2 in any other circumstances shall be determined by the Directors in their absolute discretion. The Directors shall only consider an application from a club playing at the immediate Tier below the Tier to which it applies to join and who has obtained the Club Licence for the higher Tier for the next Playing Season. Each club who meets those criteria shall be deemed automatically to have applied and each such club shall be considered by the Directors unless any club has notified the FAW by 1st June that it does not wish to be considered.

Using sporting merit, and considering clubs who had successfully achieved the Tier 2 License for the 2025/26 season, the FAW National Leagues Board elected to fill the vacancy created by Caldicot Town Ladies’ withdrawal with Taffs Well Women – the highest finishing club in Tier 2 who did not achieve promotion.
