Genero Adran North round-up | Wild-McGregor hat-trick inspires Connah’s Quay Nomads win

Connah’s Quay Nomads maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Genero Adran North with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Bangor on Sunday, inspired by Polly Wild-McGregor’s hat-trick.

The Nomads rued some early missed chances at The Poppies 3G, but Wild-McGregor found an important breakthrough on the stroke of half-time as she finished coolly beyond Catrin Roberts from a tight angle.

The captain produced a moment of magic to double the lead with a sweetly struck free-kick on 54 minutes, before she made it seven league goals in four league games by completing her hat-trick with a low drive just two minutes later.

The win was wrapped up in the 69th minute by substitute Anais Bathily, who had only been on the pitch for seven minutes, as she fired home at the near post for her fourth goal of the season. Jordan Parry’s side still have their perfect league record intact this season, having won all six matches played so far in the division.

Second-place Llandudno returned to winning ways in style with an emphatic 6-0 victory away to bottom-of-the-table NFA.

The Seasiders were beaten by the Nomads in their last outing, but were 3-0 up at half-time at Ffordd Derwen Playing Fields as Sioned Phillips, Maddie Williams and Kelsey Davies all found the net.

Williams doubled her tally for the afternoon with 58 minutes on the clock, before Rebecca Jarvis-Evans got in on the act with her fifth goal in as many games. Llandudno saw substitute Caitlin Hadaway sent off a minute later, but that did not affect the reigning champions as a Jasmin Dutton penalty rounded off an impressive afternoon for Jay Davies’ side.

Llanfair United claimed back-to-back victories in the Genero Adran North for the first time in nearly three years as they defeated Flint Town United 4-3 in an epic encounter at Mount Field.

Paris Schofield’s penalty and a calm finish from Millie Evans gave Llanfair a two-goal lead after just 24 minutes played. Shona Roberts bagged her first goal for Flint since arriving from Llandudno last month to half the deficit for the Silkwomen, but a brace from Harriet Davies put the hosts firmly in control at the break.

Flint produced an improved second half performance and reduced Llanfair’s lead to just one goal as Kaelyn Williams and Rosie Hughes found the net, but the home side were able to see out the final 10 minutes to equal their points tally from last season (12) already.

Felinheli moved up to fifth in the table after a 2-1 comeback victory over Rhyl 1879 at Treborth Playing Fields, despite having a player sent off.

Rhyl made the perfect start to proceedings as Rosie O’Brien scored after just two minutes and her strike remained the difference between the two sides until just after the hour mark when Katie Midwinter equalised.

Midwinter was a shown straight red card 13 minutes later, but that did not deter Felinheli who snatched victory in the 90th minute as 16-year-old Elsi Williams scored her first ever league goal.
