Genero Adran South round-up | Cwmbran Celtic and Pontypridd United both hit six

Cwmbran Celtic maintained top spot in the Genero Adran South with an emphatic 6-1 home win over Caldicot Town on Sunday. 

Lauren Boyd and Jade Crofts both scored twice in the first half as Celtic raced into a 4-0 lead after 37 minutes, but Claudia Meyrick pulled a goal back for Caldicot on the stroke of half-time.

It was a much quieter second half, but the hosts eventually added to their tally in the 86th minute through captain Eloise Meaney, before Crofts completed hat-trick – set up by Boyd – in stoppage time. 

Second-place Pontypridd United also won 6-1 as they enjoyed an impressive afternoon away at Llanelli Town. 

It was 3-0 after just 10 minutes at Stebonheath, with Nicole Fenton scoring inside 60 seconds before Caitlin Seaborne and Ffion Evans also the found the net – the latter on her first league start. 

Courtney Butt grabbed a goal back for Llanelli before half-time and the Reds had the opportunity to close the gap even further early in the second half but Bryanna Demery saw her penalty saved by Eleanor Brook. The rest of the game belonged to Fenton, who scored three more goals to secure a convincing three points for Pontypridd. 

Swansea University made it back-to-back wins for the first time this season as they triumphed 3-0 at home against Penybont. 

Kayleigh Hateley gave them the lead from the penalty spot in the 18th minute, before Penybont were also awarded a spot-kick five minutes later only for Georgia Tarullo to deny Maddie Priday. 

Swansea Uni made sure of the win with two goals in the final 20 minutes of the captain, with captain Charley Haynes doubling their lead before turning provider for Hannah Pinney to find the net.
