Genero Adran North | Weekend preview

After reaching the summit of the Genero Adran North last weekend, Llandudno will aim to maintain top spot when they face Llanfair United at the OPS Wind Arena.

Jordan Hadaway’s side made the most of every opportunity last weekend to triumph 4-0 over Rhyl 1879 – their third consecutive league victory.

Llanfair won for the first time in the Genero Adran North this season as Becky Jones’ second half strike sunk NFA last weekend, but came crashing down to earth with an 11-0 defeat to Connah’s Quay Nomads in the NEWFA Cup in midweek.

Llandudno have been victorious in the five previous meetings between these two sides with four wins in the last two Genero Adran North seasons, and also a 5-2 victory in the NEWFA Cup back in 2022.

Connah’s Quay Nomads were left stunned by a 4-0 defeat to Felinheli last weekend and they will now aim to bounce back when they travel to NFA.

An emphatic NEWFA Cup win over Llanfair United in midweek will have boosted morale in Jordan Parry’s squad, but they will hope to build momentum ahead of their much-anticipated clash against Llandudno at the end of the month.

NFA dropped down to seventh place after they lost 1-0 to Llanfair last weekend and it is now four defeats in their last five league games.

Sophie Hodson scored a hat-trick in a 5-2 win for the Nomads in the Genero Adran North reverse fixture in November.

Felinheli made it back-to-back victories with a Ffion Williams-inspired 4-0 triumph over Connah’s Quay Nomads last weekend and now they will aim for three wins in a row when Bangor visit Cae Seilo.

Andrew Wright’s side were also victorious last weekend as Ella Jones struck the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory over Airbus UK Broughton – they are now unbeaten in three league matches.

Felinheli secured a 2-0 win over Bangor in the NWCFA Cup in September before the two sides played out a goalless draw in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage the following month.

Airbus UK Broughton dropped to the bottom of the table after losing to Bangor last weekend, so they will aim to respond when they come up against fourth-place Rhyl 1879 at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

It is four league defeats in a row for the Wingmakers, but they did triumph 3-1 away at Llangefni Town in the NEWFA Cup in midweek.

Despite their 4-0 loss to Llandudno last weekend, Rhyl still proved to be a stern test for the league leaders in what as their third successive defeats in all competitions.

There has been plenty of goals during the past meetings between these two sides. Rhyl have prevailed on all three occasions, earning 5-3 and 4-3 wins in the 2022/23 Adran North season and most recently a 3-1 victory in the reverse league fixture this term.
