Genero Adran North | Weekend preview

Felinheli will aim to close the gap on Genero Adran North leaders Llandudno when they travel to Rhyl 1879 on Sunday.

Aaron Jones-Evans’ side currently sit second in the table following five successive league wins, six points behind the Seasiders who have played one game more. They will be aiming to bounce back from defeat to Aberystwyth Town in the Genero Adran Trophy quarter-finals last weekend.

Rhyl currently sit fifth in the Genero Adran North table but will climb back into the top half with victory on Sunday. The Lilywhites triumphed 3-2 over Llanfair United in their most recent outing.

This is the first league meeting between the two sides this season, but both of their encounters in 2022/23 proved to be thoroughly entertaining affairs. Felinheli were 4-3 winners in the first meeting before the sides shared the points in a 3-3 draw.

Third-place Connah’s Quay Nomads will also aim to make up ground on Llandudno when they meet Llanfair United at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Back-to-back defeats against their title rivals have left the Nomads nine points adrift of the table-topping Seasiders and three behind Felinheli.

Seventh-place Llanfair also come into this fixture off the back of two consecutive defeats, but a 2-0 win over Tregaron Turfs in the CWFA Cup last weekend should boost their confidence.

This will be the third meeting between the two clubs this season, but the first in the league. Amber Bailey, Alisha Wright and Anais Bathily scored the goals to secure a 3-1 victory for the Nomads in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage, before Jordan Parry’s side were emphatic 11-0 winners in the NEWFA Cup semi-final.
