Genero Adran Premier | Final day preview

Cardiff City will lift the Genero Adran Premier trophy after their final game of the season against Briton Ferry Llansawel at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.

The Bluebirds secured a third consecutive title with two games to spare, but were beaten 4-2 away at Wrexham last weekend so will be hoping to sign off with a win in the league ahead of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup final at the end of the month.

Briton Ferry will be aiming to add a victory at the Cardiff City Stadium to their tally after triumphing 3-1 over Wrexham at the Racecourse two weeks ago to secure second place in their first season back in the top-flight. The Reds are also hoping to bounce back from defeat last weekend however as they were beaten 2-1 at home by The New Saints.

It finished 2-2 in the first meeting between the two sides this season, before Ferry won 3-1 over Cardiff in December and the Bluebirds then got revenge with a 2-0 victory last month.

The New Saints and Wrexham will meet at Park Hall on the final day as they compete for a third-place finish.

It is the Red Dragons who are currently in third, having picked up more points than any other side in the top half since the split (10). Abbie Iddenden’s hat-trick inspired a 4-2 win over Cardiff City last weekend to provide a hefty confidence boost ahead of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup final.

TNS are two points behind Wrexham, having kept their hopes of a record third place finish alive with a 2-1 win away at Briton Ferry last weekend – which ended a four-match losing streak in Phase Two.

The two sides both earned 1-0 home wins over each other in Phase One, before Wrexham triumphed 3-1 at The Rock last month as Ava Suckley scored twice.

Plate Conference winners Swansea City are aiming to finish the season with a fifth consecutive victory when they host Aberystwyth Town.

It has no doubt been a disappointing season for the Swans who are competing in the bottom half for the first time in their history, but have at least built some momentum to take into next season with 13 points from a possible 15 earned in Phase Two.

Aberystwyth have won three of their five matches since the split to ensure they will continue to play top-flight football next season.

Swansea triumphed 3-1 away at Park Avenue last weekend to make it three wins from three games against Aber this season, after the sides played out three draws in 2023/24.

Cardiff Met will sign off their time in the Genero Adran Premier by welcoming Barry Town United to Cyncoed Campus.

The six-time champions’ relegation was confirmed a fortnight ago, but they finally got their first win of the season on the board last weekend as Ruby Colleton and Molly Chapman scored in a 2-0 victory over Barry at Jenner Park.

The Linnets have earned just one win from five games in Phase Two, but have already achieved their highest ever finish and points total in the Genero Adran Premier.

While Met were victorious last weekend, Barry won the three previous meetings between the two sides this season – earning 5-1 and 3-2 victories in Phase One either side of a 5-0 triumph in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup first round.
