Genero Adran Premier round-up | Wrexham end Briton Ferry’s unbeaten start

Briton Ferry Llansawel’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end as Wrexham triumphed 3-0 over the Reds at The Rock on Sunday.

Abbie Iddenden netted her fourth goal in three games to break the deadlock in the 12th minute, latching on to Brooke Cairns’ pass before slotting past Courtney Young. The hosts doubled their lead just four minutes later when Lili Jones intercepted a tame pass from Young and sent a stunning first-time effort over the Ferry goalkeeper from distance.

Captain Liv Fuller added a third goal early in the second half when she tucked away the rebound from Cairns’ initially saved effort, securing back-to-back wins for Wrexham for the first time this season. Steve Dale’s side are now just two points off the top half.

League leaders Cardiff City delivered one of their most comfortable wins of the season as they triumphed 3-0 at home against Barry Town United.

The Bluebirds were gifted the opening goal inside just six minutes as Barry defender Lauren Harris turned Mikayla Cook’s cross into her own net. Iain Darbyshire’s side doubled their lead just two minutes later when Eliza Collie got the all-important touch on Fiona Barry’s inviting delivery.

Barry then got on the scoresheet herself four minutes before half-time, receiving Kerry Walklett’s through ball before firing high into the net. A first clean sheet in five matches saw out the win for the champions.

Swansea City climbed back into the top half with a 4-0 home win over Cardiff Met, inspired by Aimee Deacon’s hat-trick.

A response was required from the Swans after a 5-0 defeat to The New Saints in their last league outing and Deacon struck twice in quick succession late in the first half to earn a 2-0 lead at the break.

There was no let up from Jamie Sherwood’s side in the second half as Robyn Pinder added a third goal shortly before the hour mark, while Deacon completed her hat-trick soon after when she finished from close range after Stacey John-Davis’ initial shot hit the crossbar. The heavy defeat for Met leaves them bottom of the table.

The New Saints made it back-to-back away wins by triumphing 1-0 at Aberystwyth Town in Sunday’s late kick-off.

The game threatened to end goalless, but a handball inside the box from Aberystwyth defender Josie Pugh in the 83rd minute presented TNS with the opportunity to win the game and captain Lia Lewis stepped up to convert from the penalty spot.

Shauna Duffy’s side remain second in the Genero Adran Premier table, two points behind leaders Cardiff City.
