Pontypridd United went three points clear at the top of the Genero Adran South after they defeated Cwmbran Celtic 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at Celtic Park on Sunday.
Both teams had won their opening two league matches of the campaign, but Ponty raced into a two-goal lead inside 25 minutes thanks to goals from Nicole Fenton and Quianna Wheeler. Lauren Boyd halved the deficit for Celtic in first half stoppage time, but a quickfire double from Lauren Payne shortly after the restart put the Dragons back in control.
Boyd calmly dispatched from the penalty spot for her second of the afternoon before Jade Crofts pulled another goal back for the home side, but Ponty were able to hold on to claim all three points.
Penybont secured their first ever Genero Adran South victory as they triumphed 2-0 over Cascade at the SDM Glass Stadium.
Bont were rewarded for their bright start to the match as Mollie Jones set up Casey Daniels for the opening goal on 14 minutes. An all-important second goal arrived six minutes into the second half as Jones found the net for the eighth time this season in all competitions.
Rianne Jones scored and assisted as Caldicot Town also claimed their first league win of the season after they beat Llanelli Town 2-0 at Jubilee Way.
Jones broke the deadlock with 35 minutes on the clock, before she set up Annabell Carr nine minutes before the final whistle as Caldicot kept just their second clean sheet of 2024. Llanelli are now the only side in the division without a point to their name.
