Genero Adran South round-up | Briton Ferry secure late win to go top

Swansea University won for the first time in four league matches as they triumphed 2-1 against Cascade on Sunday afternoon.

Cascade sat top of the Genero Adran South table at kick-off, but Swansea Uni’s Hannah Pinney opened the scoring in the 14th minute. An own goal from Rebecca Basten levelled the contest soon after, before Swans substitute Katie Horsburgh netted the winner in the 83rd minute.

Cascade’s defeat meant that Briton Ferry Llansawel returned to the top of the table with a 1-0 away win at Caldicot Town.

The Reds had numerous chances throughout the game, but looked like they were going to be left frustrated – particularly after Sarah Sprintall saved Lucy Powell’s penalty just before half-time.

However, their pressure finally paid off in the 81st minute when Alison Witts fired home her 12th league goal of the campaign.

Llanelli Town earned their second league win of the campaign on Friday night as they triumphed 1-0 over Pontardawe Town at Stebonheath.

The decisive moment came a minute before half-time when forward Stacey Webber scored her third league goal of the campaign.

Genero Adran South results:

Llanelli Town 1-0 Pontardawe Town
Caldicot Town 0-1 Briton Ferry Llansawel
Swansea University 2-1 Cascade
