Genero Adran South | Weekend preview

Genero Adran South leaders Briton Ferry Llansawel will aim to continue their perfect record in the league this season when they host Swansea University on Sunday.

Inspired by Laura-May Walkley’s brace, the Reds kicked off 2024 with a 3-0 victory over Caldicot Town to make it six wins from six games in the league so far. Rhys James’ side are also yet to concede a goal.

Fourth-place Swansea University are unbeaten their last three league matches, staging a late comeback to draw 3-3 away at Cwmbran Celtic last weekend.

Braces from Megan Kearle and Alison Witts along with one goal each for Laura-May Walkley and Lowri Baker secured a dominant 6-0 victory for Ferry in the last encounter between these two teams in November.

Second-place Cascade will attempt to keep up the pressure on Ferry when they travel to bottom of the table Pontardawe Town.

Braces from Anny Lewis and Mia Kemp inspired Cascade to a 5-0 away win at Llanelli Town last weekend, their first victory in three league matches.

It has been a torrid start to 2024 for Pontardawe, who have suffered back-to-back defeats against Llanelli and Caldicot Town. They are winless since October and have conceded the most goals in the division (27).

Goals from Phoebe Ware, Anny Lewis and Lauren Boyd earned Cascade a 3-1 victory in November’s reverse league fixture.

While Cwmbran Celtic let a two-goal lead slip against Swansea Uni last weekend, they are still unbeaten in their last three league matches.

James Kinsella’s side now host Llanelli Town, with both sides having adapted well to life in the second tier following promotion to the Genero Adran South.

Celtic are in third place with 11 points, while the Reds are in fifth place with 10 points. Yvonne Collins’ side earned back-to-back wins over Pontardawe before defeat to Cascade last weekend.

Honours were even in the last meeting between these two sides as Dannielle Evans’ early strike was cancelled out Jade Crofts’ equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
