Genero Adran South | Weekend preview

This weekend’s Genero Adran South action kicks off on Friday night as Llanelli Town host Pontardawe Town at Stebonheath.

Both clubs have won just one game from five in the league so far this season, with the Reds sitting fifth in the table on five points and Ponty just below in sixth on four points.

Llanelli will be hoping to bounce back from a 6-0 league defeat to Cascade last weekend, on the same afternoon that Ponty suffered late heartbreak to lose 2-1 to Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup.

Two goals from Keira Harris and one from Meghan Roles earned a 3-1 win for Pontardawe when the two teams met in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage at the end of October.

Genero Adran South leaders Cascade are on the road this weekend as they make the trip to Swansea University on Sunday.

Cascade have won their last three league matches in a row and an emphatic 6-0 victory over Llanelli last weekend took them to the summit of the table.

After going unbeaten in their first four league games of the campaign, Swansea Uni have now lost their last two to slip to fourth in the standings.

However, Dan Sheehan’s side did come out as 3-2 winners when they travelled to Cascade in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage in September.

Briton Ferry Llansawel will hope to continue their perfect start to the campaign when they travel to Caldicot Town on Sunday.

The Reds have won all nine of their matches across league and cup competitions so far and sit second in the Genero Adran South table – three points behind Cascade with two games in hand.

In contrast, Caldicot Town are still searching for their first victory of the season. They sit seventh in the table with one point from four matches.

The two sides most recently met in the first round of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup last month when Ferry emerged as 4-1 winners at Jubilee Way.
