This weekend sees the second round of group matches in the Genero Adran Trophy, with some clubs potentially able to book a spot in the knockout stage.
One fixture has already taken place, with Swansea University winning 3-2 away at Cascade in South Group 1 on Thursday night thanks to three goals in the space of 10 minutes in the second half.
The other game in that group sees Cwmbran Celtic host Briton Ferry Llansawel, a week after the Reds were 6-0 winners in the Genero Adran South meeting between the two teams.
Rhys James’ side triumphed 4-0 over Swansea University in the opening round of group matches, while Celtic were beaten 4-0 by Cascade.
In South Group 2, Pontardawe Town host Coed Duon after both clubs earned three points on matchday one – Ponty beating Caldicot Town 4-2 and the Dragons winning 2-1 against Llanelli Town.
Both teams are still searching for their first league wins of the season, so they will hope that the Genero Adran Trophy provides some respite once again. Their last meeting came in the SWWGL in May 2022 when Pontardawe triumphed 12-1.
The other fixture in the group sees Llanelli Town host Caldicot Town, two sides who are also yet to taste victory in the Genero Adran South so far this season.
The newly-promoted Reds earned their first point of the campaign in a 1-1 draw against Coed Duon last weekend, while Caldicot led by two goals against Cascade before losing 3-2.
Rhyl 1879 and Connah’s Quay Nomads were both big winners on matchday one in North Group 1 – 6-2 against Llanfair United and 6-0 against NFA respectively – and now they meet at Belle Vue.
The Nomads currently sit top of the Genero Adran North with six points, while the Lilywhites are in second with four points. Jordan Parry’s side won both meetings between the two clubs last season.
The other game in the group sees Llanfair United host NFA, with both sides hoping to build on their first point of the season in the Genero Adran North last weekend.
Llanfair earned a 1-1 draw away at Airbus UK Broughton, while NFA drew by the same scoreline away at Rhyl 1879.
Felinheli and Llandudno will do battle in North Group 2 a week after their Genero Adran North fixture was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Both sides were victorious in the opening round of group stage games, Felinheli beating Airbus UK Broughton 6-2 and the Seasiders triumphing 1-0 over Bangor.
In the group’s other game, Airbus host Bangor – with both sides still winless in the Genero Adran North and Genero Adran Trophy.
It was only two weeks ago that the two clubs met in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup first qualifying round, with Bangor emerging as 2-0 winners.
