The FAW can confirm that the Adran North Under 19s League will not be running in the 2026/27 season.
This was a decision taken following a period of extensive research and collaborative club consultation over the last three years regarding the competition’s long-term viability and role within the player development pathway.
The FAW’s priority is to create an enhanced and sustainable licensed Girls National Academi pathway within our domestic clubs, with a phased rollout featuring U13s (introduced in 2025/26), U15s (to be introduced in 2026/27) and U17s (to be introduced in 2027/28). This is a talent pathway that is more robust than the current model and is one that clubs are supportive of. It is a pathway that aligns with the Adran Premier’s vision of harnessing and accelerating young talent and the FAW’s wider performance strategies.
The FAW is currently working with all clubs to find suitable alternative formats for current Adran North U19s players and support their transition into first team football or alternative development environments.
