Airbus UK Broughton and Trefelin reached the Welsh Blood Service League Cup national final with wins in the regional finals on Friday night.
Airbus, who lost out on the JD Cymru North title last weekend, came from behind to triumph 2-1 over relegated Bangor 1876 in the Northern final at the Go Goodwins Stadium.
Bangor led 1-0 at half-time thanks to Liam Morris’ header in the 28th minute as he met Joe Sullivan’s perfect cross to nod past Keighan Jones.
Whatever was said in the Airbus dressing room at half-time clear worked, as the Wingmakers were level three minutes after the break when Jordan Evans released James Davies and his pass across goal was deflected into the net.
Evans was the man to score the winner with 13 minutes left on the clock with a superb strike from 25 yards out which kissed the post and went in.
Trefelin lifted the Southern trophy with a 3-1 win over Penrhiwceiber Rangers at the M&P Group 3G.
Lee Trundle opened the scoring in stunning style in the 14th minute as his shot from the left of the box flew into the far top corner, but Penrhiwceiber equalised with a thunderbolt of their own in first half stoppage time as Morgan Andrews let fly from 30 yards out.
Tref restored their lead eight minutes into the second half when Joe Clarke arrowed a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, while victory was sealed in the 69th minute as Roan Piper poked home amidst pinball in the box.
Airbus and Trefelin will now meet in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup national final on Saturday 26 April (KO 17:15) at Park Avenue in Aberystwyth.
