Gruff Harrison appointed Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru manager

The FAW is pleased to confirm the appointment of Gruff Harrison as manager of Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru ahead of the 2026/27 UEFA Regions’ Cup intermediate round.

Harrison replaces Andy Hill, who made the decision to step down from the role following an increase in his commitments at Trefelin as a result of the club’s promotion to the Novira Cymru Premier.

During his three years as manager, Hill led Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru Y De to qualification for the UEFA Regions’ Cup intermediate round on two separate occasions, via play-off victories over their north Wales counterparts. He took charge of the squad in the intermediate round in Serbia in 2024, as they finished third in their group.

The FAW would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Andy and his staff for all of their hard work while in charge of the team.

Gruff Harrison now takes on the role and immediately begins preparations for this season’s intermediate round, which will see Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina in September to face fellow Regional Amateur Teams (RATs) from Bosnia-Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Armenia.

Harrison was in charge of hometown club Ammanford for 12 years, managing over 400 matches while transforming them from a fourth tier outfit into an established second tier side. His time at the helm culminated in a third-place finish in the Novira Cymru South in the 2023/24 season before he stepped down a few months later.

The 36-year-old was appointed manager of Ardal South West side Ynysygerwn in October 2025, guiding the club from the relegation zone to a fifth-place finish last season.

Harrison commented: “I feel honoured to be selected to manage Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru for the upcoming UEFA Regions’ Cup games in Bosnia.

“Welsh domestic football is my passion and this gives me an opportunity to test myself while also representing the people and game I care so much about.

“It is a culmination of years of work and a moment that I will be very proud of. I will ensure we as a team and squad give everything during our time away representing our passionate football nation.”
