After an action-packed opening three weeks, the Novira Cymru Leagues tables are beginning to take shape, with players now back in full flow. Here are the key games to watch.
Novira Cymru Premier – Penybont vs Llandudno (Friday, 7:45pm)
Penybont and Llandudno put their unbeaten starts in the Novira Cymru Premier to the test as both sides meet at the Dragonbet Stadium on Friday.
Penybont have picked up seven points from nine available so far, giving manager Rhys Griffiths plenty of positives to build on given the opposition they have faced. Bont held champions The New Saints to a goalless draw on the opening weekend before they won away to Caernarfon Town (2-1) and Haverfordwest County (3-0). Griffiths’ new-look squad will now be hoping to give their supporters another special occasion in their first Friday night home game of the season.
Bont are preparing for another tough challenge as Llandudno currently sit top of the table after winning all three matches so far. Only Barry Town United have maintained a perfect record along with Llandudno, so the Seasiders will take a lot of confidence down to South Wales.

Jordan Hadaway’s side continued their winning run with a 3-1 victory over Holywell Town last Friday, helped by another late goal from Mark Cadwallader, who has proved decisive twice already this season after the veteran forward’s late winner sealed a dramatic 3-2 on the opening day.
Penybont managed to win just one home game during the final five months of the regular 2025/26 Novira Cymru Premier season, but ended that drought with their memorable 2-0 win over Haverfordwest in the European Play-Off final. Llandudno lost just twice away from home on their way to lifting the Novira Cymru North title last season, while they were unable to score in just one league fixture on the road.

Novira Cymru Premier – Ammanford vs Connah’s Quay Nomads (Saturday, 12:30pm)
After late drama in their first ever Novira Cymru Premier home game, Ammanford return to the Rec to host in-form Connah’s Quay Nomads on Saturday afternoon.
Ammanford suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to Briton Ferry Llansawel on the opening day, but earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Colwyn Bay the following week as Jonathan Evans and Matthew Delaney’s goals saw Ammanford come from two goals down to secure their first ever point in the top-flight. Wyn Thomas’ side lost 2-0 away to fellow newly-promoted side Airbus UK Broughton last weekend, so will be hoping for another positive response in front of their home crowd.

Ammanford’s home form was vital to their promotion last season as they lost just one Novira Cymru South match at the Rec and conceded just 12 goals on home turf throughout the campaign.
The Nomads were also beaten 2-1 in their opening weekend fixture after failing to take key chances against Caernarfon Town. However, John Disney’s side have been much more clinical over the past two weeks with a 3-1 win away to Holywell Town before a dominant 6-0 victory over Trefelin, inspired by Indonesian international Joe Simatupang-Ferguson’s hat-trick.
Egyptian forward Hussein Mehasseb sits joint-top of the league’s scoring charts with four goals, while Callum West has as many assists already, so they could have another important part to play as the Nomads eye a third successive win against newly-promoted opposition.

Novira Cymru North – Brickfield Rangers vs Penrhyncoch (Saturday, 2:30pm)
Early Novira Cymru North leaders Brickfield Rangers are searching for their fourth consecutive league win when they host Penrhyncoch at Clywedog Park on Saturday.
Brickfield are one of only two teams to maintain a perfect record following last weekend’s results, but title favourites Bala Town have played a game less. Gary Wilson’s side have won their opening three matches in convincing fashion with victories over Llanuwchllyn (5-1), Holyhead Hotspur (2-1) and Gresford Athletic (5-0). Forward Andy Vale has bagged five goals this season already, including a brace against Llanuwychllyn and a hat-trick against Gresford last weekend.

In contrast, Penrhyncoch are still without a point to their name so far following their 3-1 and 5-0 defeats to Porthmadog and Newtown respectively. The Roosters are still adapting to life without Dan Owen and Dion Phillips, who departed this summer after scoring a combined 18 league goals for the club last season. French forward Marcus Yakou and Polish forward Jakub Michalski – scorer of Penrhyncoch’s only league goal so far – will be hoping to fill that void up front, with Gari Lewis’ side eager to get off the mark.
Brickfield midfielder Danny Jones scored twice to give his side a comfortable 4-1 victory in the first meeting between the two sides last season. However, Penrhyncoch responded with a 1-0 triumph in the reverse fixture.
Novira Cymru South – Pontypridd United vs Trethomas Bluebirds (Friday, 7:30pm)
Pontypridd United are aiming to continue their perfect start to the season when they host Trethomas Bluebirds in a local derby at USW Sports Park on Friday.
Pontypridd are one of three teams, along with Pure Swansea and Carmarthen Town, to win their opening three league matches after Matt Driscoll’s side earned a pair of 3-2 wins over Treowen Stars and Pontardawe Town and a convincing 4-1 victory away to Cardiff Draconians last Saturday. Ethan Edwards, who has four goals this season already following a brace against the Dracs, will be one of five Pontypridd senior players hoping to earn victory against their former club this weekend.

Trethomas are still searching for their first win of the season following 0-0 and 1-1 draws with Baglan Dragons and Llanelli Town respectively before a 4-2 loss to Caerau Ely last weekend. The Bluebirds struggled away from home for the entirety of last season as they failed to win a single game on the road in any competition.
Edwards scored twice as Ponty secured a 2-1 victory in November’s first meeting between the two sides last season, but Trethomas gained revenge in March’s reverse fixture with an entertaining 4-2 win.
