Rhyl 1879 came from two goals down to rescue a 2-2 draw away to fierce rivals Bangor 1876 in the Novira Cymru North on Saturday.
Over 1,200 fans watched on at the Bangor City Stadium for the latest installment of this historic Welsh football rivalry. Bangor found the breakthrough four minutes before half time as a cross landed into the path of Declan McManus, whose shot took a wicked deflection off Ryan Austin and flew into the net, wrongfooting Luke Riley in the process.
McManus doubled his and Bangor’s tally moments into the second half as he clinically found the top corner from Josh Carey’s cutback down the byline for his seventh goal of the season already.
However, Rhyl were suddenly level with two quick goals within the space of four minutes as Dan Cockerline and Josh Jones both found the net from close range. The derby lived up to its name with a tense finish, but neither side could find a late winner and the points were shared.
James Davies scored all four goals as Llanuwchllyn secured back-to-back wins and clean sheets with a 4-0 victory over Holyhead Hotspur at Cae Llan.
Davies rounded Guto Hughes and fired home with just 14 minutes on the clock to get his fun afternoon underway before the striker met Jac Humphreys cross and scored on the turn to bag a quickfire brace.
Davies made it a first half hat-trick to put the hosts in a commanding position before the experienced forward completed his four-goal haul on 74 minutes to round off a convincing display from Llanuwchllyn, who remain unbeaten at home this season.
Novira Cymru North title favourites Bala Town returned to winning ways with a narrow 2-1 victory over Porthmadog a Y Traeth.
Tom Kelly put Bala ahead with 25 minutes on the clock as he tucked away the rebound after his initial effort was saved by Robbie Williams. The Lakesiders doubled their advantage three minutes into the second half as Charlie Fisher, son of manager Steve Fisher, found the net from close range for his third goal of the season.
Luke Baum quickly pulled a goal back for Porthmadog after neat work from Sam Reynolds, but a strong defensive display from Bala in the closing stages ensured Fisher’s side went home with all three points.
Buckley Town earned their biggest ever Novira Cymru North win since January 2023 after they beat Penrhyncoch 5-0 at The Globe.
Buckley were denied by the post within the first minute of the game, but Ben Guest got things rolling for the hosts in the 18th minute with calmly converted penalty.
Liam Ellis thought he had made it 2-0 on the half-hour mark, only to see his goal disallowed for a foul in the build-up. However, Connor Littler ensured the Bucks went into the break with a two-goal as he tapped home from Dan Burgess’ header back across goal.
Littler was in the right place, at the right time again to bag his brace on 64 minutes as he scrambled the ball into the net after Penrhyncoch failed to clear Dylan Proctor’s long throw.
Luke Mariette scored twice in stunning fashion from out wide to round off Buckley’s five-star performance and give Dave Evans’ side back-to-back home victories.
Brickfield Rangers maintained their two-point lead at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Guilsfield at Clywedog Park.
Brickfield wasted no time and opened the scoring after just 10 minutes played as Lewis Wynne tapped home from Andy Vale’s low cross to bag his first goal for the club.
Vale wrapped up victory for Brickfield in the closing stages by finishing off a swift counter-attack for his ninth goal of the campaign, which already equals the forward’s entire goals tally achieved from the Novira Cymru North last season.
Mold Alexandra claimed their fifth consecutive win after storming to a 5-1 victory over Gresford Athletic at Clappers Lane.
Mold immediately took control of the contest and established a three-goal lead inside just 17 minutes thanks to Luca Hogan’s opener and Owen Cordiner’s quickfire brace.
Gresford captain Dominic Maher scored his club’s first goal of the season on the half-hour mark, but former Connah’s Quay Nomads academy graduates Hogan and Lucas Gregson both found the net moments later to make it a five-star first half. A goalless second half ensured Barry Owen’s side took home all three points and maintained third-place in the table.
Rian O’Riordan scored the only goal as Newtown triumphed 1-0 over 10-man Denbigh Town at Latham Park to continue their unbeaten start.
Both sides went into the break goalless, although Newtown would have a massive advantage heading in the second half following Nathan Brown’s straight red card for an altercation on 33 minutes.
The Robins made full use of the numerical difference just nine minutes after the restart as O’Riordan scored his first goal for the club with a neat finish at the back post. Newtown held on to claim all three points and another clean sheet, meaning Jay Owen’s side have still only conceded one goal this season.
Caersws also continued their impressive run of form with a 3-0 win over Ruthin Town at the Memorial Playing Fields in Friday’s sole fixture.

Both sides seemed to be heading into half time goalless, but Ashley Jones popped up with two headers in three minutes to put Caersws in control at the break.
Teenager Jake Morris then showcased his quality to extend the Bluebirds’ lead just one minute after the restart as he weaved his way through the Ruthin and finished calmly past Dan Goldston. Caersws are now unbeaten in 15 out of their last 22 league matches – a record stretching back to December 2025.
