The Novira Cymru Leagues return this weekend with another round of tasty fixtures, including clashes between in-form sides and games expected to draw big crowds. Here are the key games to watch.
Novira Cymru Premier – Airbus UK Broughton vs The New Saints (Friday, 7:45pm)
Airbus UK Broughton put their bright Novira Cymru Premier form to its toughest test as they host new league leaders The New Saints at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium on Friday.
Airbus have enjoyed an impressive start to the season as they currently sit in the top half after four wins and three clean sheets from their first seven games. The Wingmakers secured back-to-back wins in the Novira Cymru Premier for the first time in nearly 11 years with their recent victories over Holywell Town (6-2) and Briton Ferry Llansawel (2-0). George Peers has been influential to Airbus’ recent successes with five goal contributions in his last five matches, including a goal and assist against Ferry last Friday.
The New Saints sat third in the table heading into their home fixtures against previous leaders Barry Town United last Saturday, but Rhys Hughes’ fourth goal in as many games clinched a sixth straight victory for the reigning champions, who moved a point clear at the summit. Saints are still unbeaten domestically in 2026, dropping points just once in a goalless draw away at Penybont last month.
Airbus and TNS last met in the Novira Cymru Premier in the 2022/23 season, where Saints earned convincing 7-0 and 8-0 victories. Craig Harrison’s side have beat Airbus on three more recent occasions in domestic cup competition across the last two years, conceding just once.

Novira Cymru Premier – Colwyn Bay vs Connah’s Quay Nomads (Saturday, 5:30pm)
Colwyn Bay will be hoping home advantage can continue to work in their favour when they welcome third-place Connah’s Quay Nomads to the Blue Turtle Arena on Saturday.
Colwyn Bay have attracted four-figure crowds in their three home matches so far, which has seen them earn three consecutive wins and clean sheets against Trefelin, Airbus UK Broughton and Llandudno. Bay have claimed just one point from their four away games though, and rued their missed chances in a 1-0 loss at Penybont last weekend, which currently leaves Michael Wilde’s side ninth in the Novira Cymru Premier.
The Seagulls may be enjoying a winning run on home turf, but that record is put to the test against a Connah’s Quay side who remain perfect on the road.
The Nomads climbed to the higher end of the table with a five-match winning streak throughout the majority of August, but will be hoping to bounce back from a 1-1 draw against Haverfordwest County last Friday – a performance which led manager John Disney to say he did not think his team deserved to equalise. Disney’s side have scored 18 goals altogether so far – the joint-highest in the league along with Caernarfon, and Saturday’s visitors will hope Callum West, who has nine goal contributions in his last six games, can come up with the goods once again.
Connah’s Quay went unbeaten in all four league meetings against Colwyn Bay last season, but were forced to settle for three draws after squandering leads on each of those occasions. The Nomads’ only victory over Bay came in December as Harry Franklin’s brace secured a 2-1 home win.

Novira Cymru North – Mold Alexandra vs Llanuwchllyn (Saturday, 2:30pm)
Mold Alexandra go searching for their sixth straight Novira Cymru North victory when they host fellow in-form side Llanuwchllyn at the MKH Stadium on Saturday.
Mold dropped points in their first two league matches after conceding stoppage time goals on both occasions, but Barry Owen’s side have since claimed five consecutive wins and kept three clean sheets during their impressive winning run. Luca Hogan and Owen Cordiner bagged braces to inspired Mold to a 5-1 win away to Gresford Athletic last Sunday, which lifted the Alex up to third in the table. Hogan and Cordiner have formed a dangerous partnership in attack, earning a combined nine goal contributions in their last three games.
Llanuwchllyn have claimed nine points from their opening six matches, with all three of their victories coming on home turf. The Novira Cymru North newcomers will be looking for their first points away from home on Saturday and will head to Flintshire full of confidence after their recent 2-0 win over Gresford Athletic and 4-0 win over Holyhead Hotspur last Saturday, where veteran forward James Davies scored all four goals.
Mold completed a league double over Llanuwchllyn when the two teams last met in the 2021/22 Ardal North West league as long-serving player Rhys Nash scored in both 2-1 and 3-1 victories.
Novira Cymru South – Pure Swansea vs Pontardawe Town (Friday, 7:30pm)
Novira Cymru South leaders Pure Swansea return to action against fellow newly-promoted side Pontardawe Town at Swansea Bay Sports Park on Friday.
Pure Swansea stole headlines in August after going unbeaten in their opening five matches. Jack Midwinter’s side would have been disappointed not to make it five straight wins and extend their lead at the top after they conceded twice late on in a thrilling 4-4 draw with Pontypridd United a fortnight ago.
The Swans will be hopeful of a return to winning ways, especially with their talisman and current Novira Cymru South top scorer Casey Coughlin returning following his impressive week with Tîm Rhanbarthol y De Cymru, which saw the 22-year-old score seven goals across the first two UEFA Regions’ Cup fixtures. Pure Swansea’s first-choice captain Jordan Hughes will be suspended this Friday though, as he was shown a straight red card against Pontypridd last time out.
Pontardawe showcased their mix of experience and youth in the best way possible with a 3-0 win over Caerphilly Athletic on the opening day, but they have been beaten in their last four games, losing three of those by just a single goal.
Pure Swansea and Pontardawe were embroiled in a tense 2025/26 Ardal South West title race on their way to earning promotion to the second tier. Pontardawe earned a 2-1 win on the opening day last season, but the Swans got revenge with a 3-1 win in April, which proved crucial towards their league title success.
