JD Cymru North & South round-up | Bangor 1876 complete stunning late comeback

It was the late, late show from Bangor 1876 at Deeside Stadium as they staged a stunning comeback to triumph 3-2 against Buckley Town.

It was a controlled first half from the Bucks as captain Connor Littler scored his seventh and eighth goals of the season to put his side two goals to the good as they searched for their first league points since October.

Sam Jones gave Bangor a glimmer of hope against the run of play by beating Ryan Goldston from the edge of the area in the 80th minute.

Corrig McGonigle netted a well-placed header to equalise in the 87th minute before Jones struck again in the dying seconds to complete a dramatic turnaround and send Bangor into the top half of the table.

Craig Lindfield’s double proved to be the difference as Airbus UK Broughton survived a late scare to go top of the JD Cymru North after a thrilling second half saw Mark Allen’s claim a 3-2 victory over bottom side Chirk.

After scoring and assisting in the reverse fixture, Airbus youngster Sam Baker came back to haunt the Colliers as he tapped home from Kaiden Cooke’s cross.

Lindfield scored a second from the penalty spot and later made it three by finishing the rebound from Joe Palmer’s initial effort.

Chirk’s No.10 Max McLaughlin gave his side a lifeline when he converted his spot kick and all of a sudden, five minutes later, Tristan Lloyd halved the deficit to set up a tense final 20 minutes.

After a nervy ending, Airbus held on to go top of the table after 14 games played, however both Holywell Town and Flint Town have three games in hand on The Wingmakers in what is sure to be an exciting title race in the JD Cymru North.

In the JD Cymru South’s sole weekend fixture, Carmarthen Town put on a fantastic display to overcome Abergavenny 4-1 at the LHP Stadium.

Jordan Langley scored in successive home matches to get things rolling midway through the first half for the hosts. Noah Daley put all nerves to bed when his brace, along with substitute Bradley Gibbings’ strike gave Carmarthen comfort.

Pennies captain Rhys Schwank continued his fine form in front of goal by netting a late consolation goal, but ultimately the damage was already done as The Old Gold moved third in the table.
