JD Cymru Leagues games to watch | 29-30 September

Preview the key fixtures across the JD Cymru Leagues ahead of another busy weekend of action.

JD Cymru Premier – Connah’s Quay Nomads v Penybont (Saturday, 5:15pm)

The Saturday evening entertainment is sorted in the top-flight as second-place Connah’s Quay Nomads host third-place Penybont.

Neil Gibson’s side are in the best form in the division, winning all of their last six matches and scoring 20 goals in the process. They are yet to lose as their new Essity Stadium home and have so far kept pace with reigning champions The New Saints, who they sit just two points behind.

Four points further back are Penybont, who have put together a three-match winning streak in recent weeks – their best run of form since January – as they aim for European qualification again this season.

Bont have won just one of 12 games against the Nomads since promotion to the JD Cymru Premier in 2019, with the Flintshire side unbeaten in their previous seven meetings. Both of their last two encounters have finished level.

JD Cymru North – Llanidloes Town v Llandudno (Saturday, 2:30pm)

Two of the JD Cymru North’s current bottom three meet in an early relegation six-pointer on Saturday afternoon as Llanidloes Town host Llandudno.

The Daffs are the only side in the division yet to win a league game this season and they sit bottom of the table with two points from six matches.

Meanwhile, the Seasiders picked up their first points of the campaign last weekend in a 3-2 victory against Porthmadog to move off the bottom up to 14th

Llandudno won both meetings between the two sides last season, including a 4-0 victory in their most recent encounter in February.

JD Cymru South – Carmarthen Town v Afan Lido (Saturday, 2:30pm)

Carmarthen Town and Afan Lido have both lost just one league game each this season ahead of their meeting on Saturday afternoon.

The Old Gold currently sit fifth in the JD Cymru South table and triumphed 4-2 away at Caerau Ely last weekend, but are yet to record consecutive league victories this term.

Lido lost their unbeaten record in the JD Cymru South in a 3-2 defeat to Pontardawe Town last weekend, surrending top spot in the league in the process and slipping to second.

Paul Evans’ team were 3-0 winners in both games against Carmarthen last season, while the Old Gold were 4-0 winners in the two meetings in the previous campaign.
