Caernarfon Town will travel to Haverfordwest County in the JD Cymru Premier European Play-Off final after defeating Cardiff Met on penalties in the semi-final.
The Cofis needed spot-kicks to get past a resilient Archers side following a 0-0 draw in 90 minutes at The Oval.
Richard Davies’ side started quickly in front of a crowd of 1,568 and in-form Louis Lloyd saw his dipping free-kick tipped over the bar by Kelland Absalom after just eight minutes.
Met’s best chance of the first half came when a breakaway led to Eliot Evans finding space for a shot on the edge of the box, but his effort was blocked by Ryan Sears.
It was the Archers who started the better side after the break, with captain CJ Craven latching onto a long ball over the top but Morgan Owen did well to muscle him out of possession in the nick of time. Evans then found space on the right and played the ball across the box, but it evaded everyone in the middle.
Lloyd continued to be at the heart of everything Caernarfon did and his rabona cross was met by a tame Adam Davies header on the hour mark, before the former Wrexham man played through substitute Josh Lock only for Met defender Joel Edwards to produce a last-ditch tackle.
Lock had injected some life into the Cofis after coming off the bench and he made an impressive surging run forward on 80 minutes before playing through Owen, who had his shot saved by Absalom.
With penalties looming, Met almost snatched victory with two minutes of the 90 remaining but Caernarfon goalkeeper Ben Hughes made a superb double save to deny Ryan Reynolds’ half volley and then Tom Vincent’s close-range follow up.
The Swansea City loanee would also prove to be the hero in the shootout, as he kept out spot-kicks from Eliot Evans and Matt Chubb, allowing Jake Canavan to score the winner from 12 yards and move Caernarfon one step closer to another European adventure.
