Denbigh Town pay tribute to stalwart committee member

Football could not operate without its dedicated volunteers, who keep the game running at all levels.

And Denbigh Town have paid tribute to their longest-serving committee member, who has made the decision to step down after an incredible six decades of service.

Arthur Vaughan has been part of the club’s development since the 1960s, and been a leading light in their fundraising efforts – as well as volunteering on matchdays, during which he has worked with every single first-team manager, from the club’s first appointment of Gordon Gunson in 1968 to current boss Dewi Llion.

“I am so pleased to have this opportunity to pay credit and acknowledge Arthur’s commitment, dedication and loyalty to Denbigh Town FC,” said club chairman Shon Powell.

“Arthur has seen the club develop over six decades and now as he has decided that he would like to step back from volunteering and committee work, it seems appropriate that we thank him for everything he has done for us and that we wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him at the ground as a spectator.”
