Four clubs from the second tier have had their promotion to the JD Cymru Premier confirmed following today’s Men’s UEFA & Tier 1 Club Licence decisions.
Airbus UK Broughton, Cambrian United, Llandudno and Trefelin will all compete in the top-flight in 2026/27 as it transitions to a 16-team format.
Llandudno have lost just once all season in the JD Cymru North and secured their spot in the top three in early March, before clinching the title with a 4-1 home win over Guilsfield on Easter Monday. The Seasiders return to the JD Cymru Premier following a seven-year absence.
Airbus are back in the top-flight after three years away, having competed at the top end of the JD Cymru North in each of their seasons in the second tier. The Wingmakers missed out on promotion on the final day of last season, but this term they secured a top three spot in March with an emphatic 8-0 win against Mold Alexandra.
Men’s UEFA & Tier 1 Club Licence decisions
The JD Cymru South title race between Trefelin and Cambrian United will go down to the final day, but both sides have secured promotion regardless of who lifts the trophy.
Trefelin currently lead the standings by two points, having won 19 of their last 20 league matches – a run which included securing a top three spot with a 4-0 win over Aberystwyth Town in early March.
They will compete in the JD Cymru Premier for the first time in their history, as will Cambrian United, who ensure that there will be Rhondda representation in the revamped top-flight. Liam Williams’ team claimed their place in the top three in style, winning 4-0 away at Trefelin in March.
Clubs who have been refused a licence by the First Instance Body have six days in which to submit an appeal, with the appeals body meeting on 16 April 2026.
