JD Cymru Leagues games to watch | 3-5 November

Expect plenty of fireworks across the JD Cymru Leagues on Bonfire weekend. Here are the key matches to watch.

JD Cymru Premier – Barry Town United v Aberystwyth Town (Saturday, 2:30pm)

Barry Town United and Aberystwyth Town both claimed vital wins last weekend so they will now hope to make it back-to-back leagues victories for the first time this season when they meet at Jenner Park on Saturday.

Kayne Mclaggon’s strike just 14 seconds into the second half earned a Barry a 1-0 win away at Colwyn Bay, which moved them up to ninth in the JD Cymru Premier table and four points clear of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Aberystwyth triumphed 2-0 away at Penybont – the Seasiders remain bottom of the table but are now level on points with 11th-place Colwyn Bay.

Aberystwyth have won the last three meetings between the two sides, including a 2-1 comeback victory at Jenner Park in the second round of the Nathaniel MG Cup in August.

JD Cymru North – Airbus UK Broughton v Holywell Town (Saturday, 2:30pm)

It is second versus first in the JD Cymru North this weekend as Airbus UK Broughton host Holywell Town. The two clubs currently sit level on 25 points, but the Wingmakers have played two games more.

Mark Allen’s side are the division’s top scorers this season with 26 goals to their name and came from behind to win 2-1 away at Bangor 1876 last weekend.

Meanwhile, the Wellmen have the best defence in the league with just six goals conceded. Johnny Haseldin’s side remain unbeaten in the JD Cymru North this term with eight wins from nine matches.

Hollywell triumphed 3-2 when the clubs last met in April 2022 after Airbus had thrashed them 6-1 earlier in the season.

JD Cymru South – Llantwit Major v Cambrian & Clydach Vale (Saturday, 2:30pm)

Llantwit Major’s 2-1 away win at Cambrian & Clydach Vale was one of the most eye-catching results of last weekend and the two sides will now do battle again at Lôn Melin Wynt.

For the Major, it was a first victory under Ben Stait which ended a 10-match winless run in all competitions. Three more points this weekend could take them out of the relegation zone if other results go their way.

It was a fourth consecutive league defeat for the Cam Army last weekend, a run which has seen them slip away from the promotion picture at the top of the table.

This will be third meeting between the two clubs already this season – they also faced off in the first round of the Welsh Blood Service League Cup in September when Cambrian & Clydach won 3-2.
