Two top-of-the-table clashes headline this week’s fixtures in the JD Cymru Leagues. Preview them below ahead of the action.
JD Cymru Premier – The New Saints v Penybont (Saturday, 5:15pm)
The current JD Cymru Premier two meet on Saturday evening as The New Saints host Penybont at Park Hall, live on Sgorio.
TNS are currently three points clear at the top of the table, having triumphed 3-1 over Caernarfon Town on Tuesday night for their seventh consecutive league win. In-form forward Ryan Brobbel has made eight goal contributions during that run.
The New Saints v Penybont
Second-place Penybont are unbeaten in their last seven matches, winning five of those. Rhys Griffiths’ side, who have not lost away from home this season, came from behind to win 2-1 against Haverfordwest County on Tuesday.
Dan Williams and Ben Wilson were on target in the Saints’ 2-0 victory in August’s reverse fixture, while Bont have never won away at Park Hall.

JD Cymru North – Holywell Town v Penrhyncoch (Saturday, 2:30pm)
Holywell Town and Penrhyncoch meet at Bartons North Wales Stadium on Saturday following contrasting starts to the JD Cymru North season.
Holywell remain unbeaten in the league last season, but have drawn their last two matches against Rhyl 1879 and Airbus UK Broughton. The Wellmen are level on points with the Wingmakers at the top of the table, but sit second on goal difference.

Penrhyncoch sit bottom of the table on just three points and are one of only two teams – along with Holyhead Hotspur – yet to claim a league win this season. The Roosters were beaten 3-0 by third-place Llandudno in their last outing a fortnight ago.
Holywell were narrow victors in both league meetings between the two sides last season with 1-0 and 2-1 wins. Penrhyncoch responded with a stunning 5-1 victory in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup, but the Wellmen have since gained revenge in that competition with a 2-0 triumph in August.
JD Cymru South – Cambrian United v Trefelin (Friday, 7:45pm)
It is first versus second in the JD Cymru South as Cambrian United host Trefelin the M&P Group 3G on Friday night.
The Cam Army are four points clear at the top of the table and kept their third consecutive clean sheet in a goalless draw with Carmarthen Town last time out. Trefelin also drew 0-0 last weekend against Afan Lido and are without defeat in their last seven league matches – the longest current unbeaten run in the division.

The two sides possess the two highest scorers in the JD Cymru South this season, with Cam’s Liam Eason bagging nine goals and Tref’s Luke Bowen on seven.
Trefelin won all three meetings between the two teams last season, with victory in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup before 5-2 and 3-1 league wins.
