It was a goal-crazy weekend in the JD Cymru North, with 49 scored across eight matches – an average over six per game.
Holywell Town and Gresford Athletic shared 12 goals on Saturday afternoon as the league leaders won 8-4 at the Bartons North Wales Stadium – the second highest-scoring JD Cymru North game ever.
The Wellmen were 4-0 up after just 28 minutes as Craig Lindfield scored twice alongside strikes from Fabrizio Murtas and Jamie Breese. Haci Ozlu pulled a goal back for Gresford on the half hour mark, but Breese, Murtas and Ilan Ap Garethall found the net from close range before the break as Holywell became the first team to score seven goals in the first half of a JD Cymru North game.
Breese set up Lindfield to complete hat-trick on 56 minutes, before the Colliers restored some element of pride late on as Mitchell Williams, Toby Gallagher-Keenan and Jake Roberts all netted in the final quarter of an hour.
There was also a high-scoring encounter at The Globe on Friday night as Buckley Town and Holyhead Hotspur played out a thrilling 5-5 draw.

Callum Graves set up both Luca Meek and Cory Williams as winless Holyhead went into half-time two goals to the good. There was then a frantic start to the second half as Max Moore pulled a goal back for Buckley, only for Ifan Jones to restore Holyhead’s two-goal cushion immediately from the restart.
However, the hosts stunningly turned the game around to lead 4-3 with 13 minutes to play as Bradley Knight bagged a brace, scoring either side of Connor Littler’s close range finish.
Craig Whelan fired home for Holyhead to make it level again in the 84th minute, but Knight completed his hat-trick six minutes later to put the Bucks ahead once more. Yet there was one final twist in store as teenage defender Jake Roberts popped up with his first senior goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time to salvage a dramatic point for the visitors.
Second-place Airbus UK Broughton produced a second half blitz to triumph 4-0 over Caersws and maintain their unbeaten start at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium on Saturday.
The Wingmakers rued their missed opportunities for the opening hour, but the breakthrough eventually arrived in the 66th minute as Danny Warren slotted home from George Peers’ through ball.
That opened the floodgates for Mark Allen’s side as Mason Blackwell-Jones’ close range finish and Peers’ smart lob put them firmly in control, before substitute Oli Lanceley wrapped up victory late on by heading in from Kieran Evans’ delivery.

Third-place Llandudno are also still unbeaten following their 3-1 win away at Ruthin Town on Friday night.
Mark Cadwallader bagged his eighth goal of the campaign to put the Seasiders in front on 35 minutes, but former Llandudno man Danny Holland equalised just before half-time as the visitors finally conceded in the league for the first time this season.
Ruthin kept Llandudno at bay for much of the second half but their resistance was eventually broken when the Seasiders scored twice in two minutes through Iwan Cartwright and Adam Stephens to claim victory.
17-year-old Taz Hollinshead bagged a brace as Newtown stormed to a 5-2 win over Rhyl 1879 at the Hops and Barley Community Stadium.
Rob Evans guided home a header from Aidan McCann’s corner to give Newtown the lead in the 27th minute, before Hollinshead, who scored his first senior goal against Bala Town in the Nathaniel MG Cup in midweek, produced a curling strike into the bottom corner two minutes later.

Billy Holmes pulled a goal back for Rhyl with a stunning effort from distance early in the second half, but Newtown had their two-goal lead back just seven minutes later thanks to Greg Draper’s first for the club.
Robins substitute Devon Torry, who had been on the pitch for just two minutes, added his name to the scoresheet on 76 minutes before Hollinshead completed his brace soon after with a deflected strike. Ben Lawrence pulled another goal back for Rhyl in stoppage time, but it came too late as Newtown earned their biggest away win since October 2023.
Liam Dickinson’s first match in charge of Flint Mountain ended in a 5-1 defeat to Denbigh Town at Central Park on Friday night.
The hosts broke the deadlock just before half-time thanks to Sam Duffy’s effort from distance, before doubling their advantage two minutes into the second half as Gwion Dafydd bagged his first goal for the club. The new arrival then turned provider for Alfie Vaughan 10 minutes later.
Bobby Beaumont and Matthew Worrall added their names to the scoresheet in the final 20 minutes, but Denbigh were denied a clean sheet by Joe Ly’s consolation late on.

Adam Knott scored twice as Guilsfield earned an entertaining 3-2 victory away at winless Penrhyncoch on Friday night.
Knott opened the scoring for Guilsfield in the 18th minute with a flick-on from Chris Cathrall’s long throw. Zac Davies finished off a swift counter-attack to bring Penrhyncoch level just after the half hour mark, but Knott restored the visitors’ lead five minutes before half-time with a poacher’s finish into the bottom corner.
Penrhyncoch equalised again on 67 as Rhydian Davies poked home in the midst of a goalmouth scramble, but Callum Bromley headed home from Cathrall’s cross just three minutes later for what proved to be Guilsfield’s winner.
Owen Cordiner netted a decisive late goal as Mold Alexandra ended their five-match winless run with a 1-0 victory away at Brickfield Rangers on Saturday.
After some incredible first half saves from Mold goalkeeper Henry Green, the Alex went on to snatch all three points with 86 minutes on the clock as Cordiner rifled into the roof of the net from Craig Rogers’ flick-on.
