JD Cymru North round-up | Reeves bags four as Flint win nine-goal thriller

Airbus UK Broughton returned to the top of the JD Cymru North table on goal difference on Easter Monday, but the Wingmakers were left frustrated after being held to a 2-2 draw at home against Buckley Town.

Things looked to be going smoothly for Airbus as composed finishes Kaiden Cooke and Nick Rushton earn them a two-goal lead at the break.

However, Buckley captain Callum Humphries pulled a goal back by heading home from a corner in the 55thminute, before Asa Hamilton came off the bench to equalise with seven minutes remaining.

Airbus have just one league game remaining, whereas second-place Holywell Town are on the same number of points but have two games in hand after their fixture against Llanidloes Town was postponed.

Flint Town United’s title hopes are also still alive after their entertaining 6-3 home win over Mold Alexandra in which Elliott Reeves scored four goals.

Reeves scored twice inside the first ten minutes to get things rolling for the Silkmen before Aidan Farren quickly halved the deficit for the visitors.

Josh Jones restored the two-goal cushion with his exquisite outside-the-foot finish, but Mold responded through Charlie Davies who scored his first league goal for the Alex. The same scenario happened again moments before the break as Lewis Sirrell headed home Flint’s fourth, only for Jake Roberts to give Mold a lifeline with his free-kick in stoppage time.

Reeves completed his hat-trick four minutes into the second half before grabbing his fourth just after the hour mark as he moved to the top of the division’s coring charts this season with 28 goals.

Flint are now five points adrift of Airbus and Holywell, but have two games in hand over the Wingmakers.

Porthmadog’s survival hopes are hanging by a thread after they were held to a 1-1 draw away at already-relegated Chirk AAA.

Teenager Rhys Edwards popped up with the opener for the Colliers with 24 minutes on the clock, but Rhys Williams’ strike early in the second half was enough to salvage a point for Port.

Ruthin Town made it back-to-back wins over the Easter weekend with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Prestatyn Town at the Memorial Playing Fields.

Seasiders skipper Tom Kemp was shown a red card after just 13 minutes and Ruthin fully capitalised on having the extra man.

Sam Jones opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 24th minute, Llyr Morris bagged a brace before half-time and Ethan Davies wrapped up the scoring midway through the second period.

Teenager Ethan Roberts starred for Llandudno as they triumphed 3-0 over Bangor 1876 at Nantporth.

Buoyed after achieving survival on Good Friday, Jordan Hadaway’s side grabbed the opener on 66 minutes as Roberts squared the ball for Danny Holland, who slotted into an open goal just eight minutes after coming on as a substitute.

Three minutes later, Roberts found the net himself after intercepting Bangor in their own half and sending a clinical finish beyond Carl Jones. He then grabbed his second assist of the afternoon in stoppage time as he found Harvey Bennett, who tucked away a third for Llandudno.

Gresford Athletic made it three wins in their last four away games as Joe Chaplin’s first half goal secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Guilsfield at Latham Park.

The decisive moment came in the 23rd minute as Chaplin met Charlie Mann’s cross and guided his header past Rob Williams for his sixth league goal of the season.

Monday’s evening kick-off saw Owen Davies bag a late equaliser as Denbigh Town rescued a 1-1 draw against Caersws.

The Bluebirds made the breakthrough in the 11th minute as Craig Harris squared the ball for Craig Williams who rolled the ball home.

Teenager Davies has been in fine form for Denbigh since joining on loan from TNS and he headed in an equaliser with just five minutes left on the clock.
