Holywell Town missed the chance to go top of the JD Cymru North as they suffered a 3-1 defeat away at Rhyl 1879 on Friday night.
Jamie Breese bagged his 13th league goal of the season from close range to put Holywell ahead early in the second half, but Rhyl immediately equalised through Archie Jones’ clinical finish into the far corner.
The Lilywhites then completed the turnaround as Jack Parry scored twice in the space of five minutes, firing an effort into the bottom corner from outside the area before tapping into an empty net from Ben Lightfoot’s square ball.
League leaders Llandudno were not in league action this weekend, but they still remain a point clear at the summit and now have three games in hand over the second-place Wellmen.

Fourth-place Newtown also dropped key points in the promotion race as they were held to a 1-1 draw against bottom-of-the-table Penrhyncoch at Latham Park on Friday.
Newtown took the lead after 73 minutes played as Jamie Hyne’s low effort trickled into the bottom corner.
However, Penrhyncoch piled on the pressure in the closing stages and found an equaliser in the second minute of stoppage time as Daniel Owen tapped home the rebound from a header which struck the crossbar for his third goal in two league games. The Roosters are now just two points adrift of safety.
Flint Mountain moved seven points clear of the relegation zone as Kieran Owens’ brace inspired a 3-0 victory over Caersws at Bastion Gardens in Saturday’s only fixture.
Owens put Mountain ahead on the stroke of half-time before he doubled his tally for the afternoon shortly after the hour mark. Substitute Alex Bacon, making just his second appearance for Mountain, wrapped things up in stoppage time with his first goal for the club.

Holyhead Hotspur claimed their third straight league win and first away victory of the season with a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Ruthin Town at the Memorial Playing Fields on Friday.
The decisive moment came after just 14 minutes played as captain Tomos Owen netted his second goal of the season. Holyhead are now up to 10th in the table, with Guilsfield and Llandudno the only two teams to claim more points than Darren Garmey’s side in the last five matches.
