The 2025/26 JD Cymru Premier Team of the Season was announced at the FAW National League Awards in association with Morgans Consult, on Saturday, 16 May.
For the first time, supporters were invited to vote for the Team of the Season, with the final selections determined by a combination of public votes and an independent panel to ensure a balanced outcome.
The final XI includes four players from champions The New Saints, three from Barry Town United, two from Connah’s Quay Nomads, and one each from Caernarfon Town and Haverfordwest County.
JD Cymru Premier 2025/26 Team of the Season
GK: George Ratcliffe (Barry Town United)
Having previously spent time on loan at the club, Ratcliffe returned to Jenner Park on a permanent deal last summer from Connah’s Quay Nomads. He played a key role in Barry Town’s third-place finish, making 31 league appearances and featuring in their European Play-Off campaign, while keeping 13 clean sheets.
RB: Dan Williams (The New Saints)
Naturally a central midfielder, Williams was deployed at right-back for much of the season and thrived in the role. The positional switch yielded 12 assists and five goals, while he missed just one league match all campaign.
CB: Ben Margetson (Barry Town United)
The former Swansea City academy player enjoyed an impressive season at the heart of Barry’s defence, even facing his younger brother Kit during the campaign. A commanding presence at the back, Margetson also contributed going forward, enjoying a prolific spell across November and December with both goals and assists.

CB: Jack Bodenham (The New Saints)
Bodenham was a strong contender for the JD Cymru Premier Player of the Season award, eventually losing out to teammate Jordan Williams. He was a consistent figure in a defence that conceded just 25 league goals throughout the season.
LB: Matty Jones (Caernarfon Town)
Jones capped an excellent season by scoring in the JD Welsh Cup final against Flint Town United. The 26-year-old registered four assists and two goals in 24 league appearances, while helping the Cofis keep seven clean sheets.
RM: Ryan Brobbel (The New Saints)
One of the division’s most established talents, Brobbel delivered another outstanding campaign. Missing just one league fixture, he finished with 14 goals and 12 assists.
CM: Corey Shephard (Haverfordwest County)
Shephard once again demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the league’s most complete midfielders, combining defensive discipline with attacking quality. He finished the season with nine goals and seven assists in 28 appearances, including a stunning long-range strike against Bala Town at Maes Tegid that was among the Goal of the Season contenders.
CM: Callum West (Connah’s Quay Nomads)
The former Barnsley youngster enjoyed a brilliant debut season in Welsh top-flight football. West recorded seven goals and nine assists, earning a nomination for Young Player of the Season.

LM: Rhys Hughes (Connah’s Quay Nomads)
Another superb campaign for the 10-time Wales U21 international saw Hughes produce 14 goals and 10 assists in 30 appearances, surpassing last season’s combined tally of 17 goal contributions. A move to title rivals The New Saints has already been confirmed, and it will be fascinating to see how he fits into an already formidable attacking side.
ST: Jordan Williams (The New Saints)
The 33-year-old claimed the Golden Boot with 26 league goals and was named JD Cymru Premier Player of the Season. His transition from a wide role to centre-forward proved a masterstroke by manager Craig Harrison.
ST: Ieuan Owen (Barry Town United)
Owen rounded off an outstanding campaign by being named JD Cymru Premier Young Player of the Season and earning a place in the Team of the Season. The forward netted 11 times in the league and he also scored twice to help Barry Town end their long wait for Nathaniel MG Cup success.
