2025/26 JD Cymru South awards
Player of the Season
Dan John – Ammanford
The 20-year-old striker has enjoyed an incredible season following his summer loan move from Haverfordwest County. With 18 goals and nine assists to his name, John has been an integral part of the club achieving promotion to the JD Cymru Premier.
Liam Eason – Cambrian United
A striker who is no stranger to success in the JD Cymru South, Eason continued his excellent form in front of goal following his return to Cambrian United. His 19 goals and 14 assists helped seal the runners-up position for his club who can now look forward to their first season in the top division.
Shaun MacDonald – Trefelin
JD Cymru South champions Trefelin conceded just 17 goals in their 30 league games this season, with former Cymru international Shaun MacDonald proving to be a hugely influential figure in the heart of their defence having moved back from his more familiar midfield position.
Manager of the Season
Andy Hill – Trefelin
Trefelin claimed the JD Cymru South title with the best attacking and defensive record and head into the JD Cymru Premier with plenty of confidence and belief. Manager Andy Hill has developed the perfect mix of youth and experience in his squad, and they consistently delivered throughout the campaign – winning 20 of their final 21 games and going unbeaten away from home across the season.
Wyn Thomas – Ammanford
The promotion dream became a reality for Wyn Thomas and his Ammanford side on the final day of the season as they sealed their place in the JD Cymru Premier with a 2-1 win at Cwmbran Celtic. The side achieved their success with just four defeats throughout the league campaign.
Liam Williams – Cambrian United
Cambrian United pushed Trefelin for the JD Cymru South title right up to the final day, and last month inflicted a 4-0 defeat on their title rivals. Liam Williams’ side end the season in second place and can now look forward to their first campaign in the JD Cymru Premier.
Young Player of the Season
Dan John – Ammanford
The fact that Dan John is also nominated for the main Player of the Season award is testament to the quality and talent of the 20-year-old striker. A pivotal player for Ammanford in a season that saw the club finally earn promotion to the JD Cymru Premier.
George Sheppard – Caerau Ely
Despite still being only 20 years of age, George Sheppard played every minute of every JD Cymru South match for Caerau Ely this season as the club remained in contention for promotion right up to the final day. Although they would eventually finish fourth, Sheppard played a huge part in an impressive campaign.
Lewys Ware – Trefelin
The former Cardiff City and Penybont winger joined Trefelin last summer and quickly established himself the team, featuring in 28 league games this season. The 21-year-old scored four goals and provided two assists as his side claimed the JD Cymru South title.
