Nathaniel MG Cup Quarter-Finals: Llandudno win nine-goal thriller to book semi-final spot

An emphatic second half display saw Nathaniel MG Cup holders The New Saints ease into this season’s semi-finals with a 3-0 victory over Caernarfon Town at Park Hall on Tuesday night.

The Saints were kept at bay by the Cofis for the opening 45 minutes, with Dom Corness being denied by the post, but they found an opener just five minutes after the break as Adrian Cieslewicz turned home Louis Phillips’ low ball.

A brace from Jack Nadin in the final 10 minutes sealed TNS’ spot in the last four, as the 21-year-old tucked home the rebound following Ben Clark’s saved effort before he produced a first-time finish from Kade Craig’s cross.

Cambrian United knocked out top-flight opposition for the second consecutive round as they triumphed 1-0 over Briton Ferry Llansawel at the M&P Group 3G.

The decisive moment of the contest came in the 25th minute as Calum Bateman went on a brilliant solo run before rounding Will Fuller to tap home.

Ferry had the chance to equalise when they were awarded a penalty with just 10 minutes left on the clock, but Morgan Davies denied Tom Walters from the spot – the Cambrian goalkeeper making himself a hero again following his two saves in the shootout win over Cardiff Met in Round Three.

Llandudno came from behind to earn a thrilling 6-3 victory away at Newtown and reach the semi-finals for the first time in the club’s history.

Newtown raced into a 2-0 lead inside eight minutes at Latham Park thanks to quickfire goals from Aidan McCann and Ollie Sharp, but Dylan Proctor’s front post header halved the deficit for Llandudno soon after before Adam Stephens levelled the contest in the 35th minute by firing home inside the box.

Tom Jones edged the Robins back in front two minutes later, but Llandudno immediately equalised once more as Aidan Higgins drilled his effort into the bottom corner to make it 3-3 after a pulsating first half.

The Seasiders took the lead for the first time in the tie when substitute Mark Cadwallader headed home on 69 minutes, before the veteran forward grabbed his second of the night in the 84th minute. A semi-final spot was sealed four minutes later when Ben Maher scored directly from a corner.

Barry Town United are into the Nathaniel MG Cup semi-finals for the second consecutive season

Barry Town United reached the semi-finals for the second consecutive season with a 2-0 win away at Haverfordwest County.

After a goalless first half, Barry were awarded a penalty just four minutes after the break and Cardiff City loanee Morgan Wigley stepped up to score from the spot.

Dan Hawkins squandered a glorious chance to equalise for Haverfordwest as he headed over the bar from close range when running into Corey Shephard’s cross, which proved costly for the hosts as Ieuan Owen came off the bench for Barry and netted just six minutes later to seal victory.
