The Welsh Blood Service League Cup returns this weekend, as the 16 remaining clubs look to book their spots in the regional semi-finals.
In the Northern section, one tie pits together JD Cymru North leaders Airbus UK Broughton and bottom-of-the-table side Llay Miners Welfare at The Ring on Saturday.
The Wingmakers, who triumphed 3-1 over Llandudno in Round One, head into the game after seeing their 13-match winning streak come to an end with defeat to Holywell Town last weekend.
Welfare have already knocked out one high-flying JD Cymru North side from this competition this season, beating Buckley Town in Round One, but victory on Saturday would be a major upset as they are 47 points behind Airbus in the league table. Llay have won just once in all competitions since the end of September.
Colwyn Bay trail Airbus by just one point in the JD Cymru North table and are also on the road this weekend as they travel to Gresford Athletic.

The Seagulls won the Northern section of this competition in 2022/23, but needed a penalty shootout to progress past Flint Mountain in Round One this term. The only defeat they have suffered since early August was against The New Saints in the JD Welsh Cup in December.
Bay have won 11-0 on aggregate across their two league meetings with Gresford this season, so the Colliers certainly have an uphill battle on their hands. Eddie Maurice-Jones’ men, who won 3-0 against Denbigh Town in Round One, currently sit just a point above the JD Cymru North relegation zone.
Holywell Town knocked out Welsh Blood Service League Cup holders Mold Alexandra in Round One and now make the trip to Penrhyncoch this weekend.
Johnny Haseldin’s side, who sit third in the JD Cymru North table, head into the tie after beating league leaders Airbus last weekend and have already beaten Penrhyncoch twice this season.
The Roosters squeezed past Prestatyn Town with a 1-0 victory in Round One, but have won just one of their last six matches in all competitions.

Bangor 1876 will hope that this cup provides some respite from a poor run of league form when they host Ruthin Town on Saturday.
Michael Johnston’s side are winless in their last six JD Cymru North matches and have slipped to 10th in the table in the process – only four points above the relegation zone where Ruthin sit.
While Bangor needed penalties to beat Caersws in Round One, Ruthin were comfortable 3-0 winners over Guilsfield. Dave Evans’ side are in similarly miserable recent form though, winning just one of their last 10 matches.
The highest-ranked side remaining in the Southern section are Pontypridd United, who travel to Caerau Ely on Friday night.
The Dragons are currently third in the JD Cymru South table but have been inconsistent since the turn of the year, picking up four points from a possible nine. They triumphed 2-1 away at Goytre United in Round One.

Caerau Ely knocked out JD Cymru South title contenders Trethomas Bluebirds in Round One as Tom McLean’s early goal proved decisive in a 1-0 win. The Young Guns also have a JD Welsh Cup quarter-final to look forward to next month, but have lost three of their last four matches in the league.
Carmarthen Town are also in the last eight of the JD Welsh Cup but will be hopeful of progressing in this competition too as they travel to Penrhiwceiber Rangers on Saturday.
Mark Aizlewood’s side knocked out Afan Lido with a 1-0 victory in Round One and have started 2025 in fine form, winning five of their last six games. They drew 0-0 when they visited Glasbrook Field in the league in November.
That result will give confidence to Rangers on Saturday as they look to defy the league table – Dean Brown’s side are only above the JD Cymru South relegation zone on goal difference whereas Carmarthen sit fifth. Penrhiwceiber won 4-3 in a thrilling contest against Baglan Dragons in Round One.
It has been a challenging campaign so far for Taffs Well, but they will hope this competition provides a bit of light when they travel to Taffs Well on Friday night.

The Wellmen are five points adrift of safety in the JD Cymru South after six successive defeats and have won just once in all competitions since their 3-2 victory away at Cwmbran Celtic in Round One at the end of August.
Trefelin are fourth in the league table, having not lost since the end of November, and won 3-1 against Cambrian United in Round One. Lee Trundle scored twice in a 3-3 draw against Taffs Well in October.
Completing the Round Two schedule is the clash between Newport City and Ammanford on Saturday afternoon.
The Steelmen knocked out current JD Cymru South leaders Llanelli Town on penalties in Round One, but lost to the Reds in the league last weekend to drop to seventh in the table.
Ammanford held the other title-chasing side Trethomas Bluebirds to a 1-1 draw last weekend and also progressed from Round One of this competition on penalties as they defeated Llantwit Major from the spot.
