Llanrumney United have been promoted to the Genero Adran South following today’s Women’s FAW Tier 2 Club Licence decisions.
It continues an impressive rise for the side from the capital, who were only founded in 2024 and have now earned back-to-back promotions.
Cardiff City and Genero Adran Premier legends, and twin sisters, Catherine and Siobhan Walsh are manager and assistant manager respectively at the club, with their former Bluebirds teammate Zoe Atkins also involved as both a player and strength & conditioning coach.
It has been a superb campaign for Llanrumney, who won 19 of their 20 league games to secure the SWWGL Combined title, while scoring 74 goals and conceding just 17.
“The bar at the top is to play in the Adran Premier,” Catherine Walsh told Sgorio earlier this year. “Obviously coming from there, we know it will be a long way before we get there. Our aim is to be promoted into the Adran South next year and then hopefully we’ll push on from there.”
“They’re a really good group,” Siobhan said of the squad. “We started from nothing, we didn’t really know what to expect, but we really lucked out with the girls, they really came together straight away as a team.”
