Genero Adran North round-up: Berriew off the mark as Connah’s Quay run riot

Berriew claimed their first ever victory in the Genero Adran North with a stunning 3-0 win over Llandudno at the Go Goodwins Stadium on Sunday.

The contest remained goalless for almost an hour, but quickfire goals from Gemma Jones and Dottie Evans earned Berriew a two-goal advantage.

Llandudno searched for a comeback, but Evans netted her second of the match with just two minutes left on the clock to seal a memorable victory for Regina Hanratty’s side, who are now up to fourth in the table.

Reigning champions Connah’s Quay Nomads continued their perfect start to the campaign with an emphatic 8-0 win over Felinheli at Deeside Stadium.

Ella Jones produced two clinical finishes across goal inside just nine minutes to put the Nomads in control early on, before the striker completed her first half hat-trick in the 37th minute from the penalty spot following a foul on Polly Wild-McGregor in the box.

Libby Mackenzie’s first Nomads goal, Megan Andrews’ solo effort and Wild-McGregor’s composed strike through the legs of Catrin Beech gave the hosts a six-goal lead at the break.

Jones then grabbed her fourth of the afternoon early in the second half with a powerful strike into the top corner, before 16-year-old Megan Clarke headed home from Mae Hodgers’ cross for her first ever senior goal. The result gave manager Jordan Parry victory on his 100th game in charge of the club, with his side two points clear at the top of the table.

Flint Town United maintained their unbeaten start to the league campaign with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Bangor at the Essity Stadium.

Ruby Hastings went on a solo run and finished beyond Catrin Roberts to net her first goal of the season and give Flint the lead after 21 minutes.

That remained the difference between the two sides for over an hour, with Bangor denied by the crossbar in the search for the equaliser, before Flint scored three late goals to seal the win. Zoe Stopford steered the ball home from Rebecca Eagles’ free-kick, while Shannon Hobbs and Beth Roberts both scored their first league goals for the club.
