Llanelli Town earned their first Genero Adran South victory of the season with a shock 2-1 win away at league leaders Cardiff Met on Sunday.

Met led after just 13 minutes as teenager Megan Gladwyn netted her first league goal for the club with a powerful strike into the top corner, but Llanelli equalised nine minutes before half-time when Bryanna Demery sent a looping effort over Verity Jones.

The Reds’ winning goal came with 73 minutes on the clock, when teenage debutant Abi Pritchard – who had only come off the bench eight minutes earlier – unleashed a superb effort into the top corner.

Carmarthen Town moved up to second in the table, level on points with Cardiff Met, following a 4-2 victory over Penybont at the DragonBet Stadium.

The Old Gold made a rapid start to the contest as sisters Ophelia and Flavia Jenkins both netted inside the opening eight minutes. Ophelia then set up Flavia to make it 3-0 just before the half hour mark.

Cerys Jones pulled a goal back for Bont soon after, but Carmarthen restored their three-goal advantage going into the break as the Jenkins sisters again combined – this time Flavia finding Ophelia, who picked out the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

17-year-old substitute Edie Evans scored her first senior goal for Penybont midway through the second half, but Carmarthen held on for three points.

Third-place Pure Swansea are also level on points with the top two after they earned a 2-1 win away at Cascade.

Isabel O’Sullivan and Annabel Stokes both scored in the final 10 minutes of the first half for Pure Swansea, which proved decisive in claiming all three points.
