Genero Adran North round-up: Connah’s Quay Nomads held again by Llandudno

Connah’s Quay Nomads were forced to put the champagne on ice on as the Genero Adran North leaders were held to a 0-0 draw by Llandudno at the Go Goodwins Stadium.

The Nomads knew that victory would secure them the league title, but, for the third time in four meetings this season, were unable to find a way past a resolute Seasiders defence.

Lexi Walsh had a superb chance inside the opening minute but was denied by Meg Robinson, while Alisha Whitehead-Hughes spurned an opportunity late on. At the other end of the pitch, Aimee Redfern made a vital goal line clearance.

Llandudno are the only side to take points off the Nomads in the Genero Adran North over the last two seasons, having also held them to a goalless draw last month, while the Seasiders triumphed over the Flintshire outfit in both the Genero Adran Trophy and Bute Energy Welsh Cup this season.

The Nomads will now turn their attentions to their home game against Flint Town United next weekend, when they can secure the title with a victory – of if Llanfair United drop points against Berriew.

However, Catrin Hopkins restored Berriew’s advantage soon after before turning provider to set up Hannah Richards to seal victory late in the day.
