Genero Adran North round-up | Top three all win as title race hots up

Genero Adran North leaders Llandudno came from behind to defeat Llanfair United 8-3 at Latham Park as Kelsey Davies scored a second consecutive hat-trick.

The hosts took a surprise lead in the 15th minute through Mary Bailey’s fifth goal of the season, but the Seasiders quickly responded as Ffion Owen’s four-minute brace and goals from Jasmine Dutton and Kelsey Davies gave Jordan Hadaway’s side a 4-1 lead at the break.

Llanfair thought they had restored hope after quickfire goals from youngsters Emma Williams and Becky Jones reduced the deficit to just one goal, but Davies completed her hat-trick to give Llandudno daylight with ten minutes to go.

Jasmine Dutton grabbed her second of the match after converting from the penalty spot before she turned provider for Maddie Williams in the third minute of stoppage to wrap up another impressive Seasiders performance.

Nel Huws bagged a hat-trick as second-place Felinheli maintained the pressure on Llandudno after they defeated Rhyl 1879 6-1 at Cae Seilo to claim their seventh successive league victory.

Ffion Williams gave the hosts an early lead before Huws made it two four minutes later. Catrin Evans continued her fine form in front of goal by converting from the penalty spot to add a third, which was followed by Huws’ second of the afternoon.

Rhyl pushed for an unlikely comeback throughout the majority of the second half, but Huws completed her treble in the 86th minute to put the game to bed.

Lilywhites captain Rebecca Bannister grabbed a consolation goal in stoppage time, but Williams restored the five-goal advantage to round off a delightful display for Felinheli.

Connah’s Quay Nomads also showed no sign of a slip ups in the title race as they triumphed 3-1 over NFA at Ffordd Derwen Playing Fields.

The Nomads were rewarded for their bright start as Kylie Jones smashed home the opener from the penalty spot in the sixth minute, but in NFA drew level on the half hour mark when Jess Mills’ darting run down the left hand side saw her cross-turned-shot fly over Molly France and into the back of the net.

However, the visitors hit back straight away as latest recruit Sophie Rawling was invited to shoot on the edge of the area and sent an unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner.

Anais Bathily wrapped things up just four minutes after coming on as a substitute in the second half after NFA failed to clear an in-swinging corner. The result takes Nomads up to 24 points in third place, six points adrift of leaders Llandudno, but the Deesiders do have a game in hand. NFA remain in a comfortable fourth place despite defeat.
