Genero Adran North | Weekend preview

Genero Adran North leaders Llandudno will aim to take a step closer to securing the title when they travel to Latham Park to face Llanfair United on Sunday afternoon.

The Seasiders are currently three points clear at the top of the table with four matches left to play, having won their last six league games in succession.

Llanfair will be hoping to bounce back from a chastening 14-0 defeat to Connah’s Quay Nomads last weekend, which kept them seventh in the table – just one point above bottom side Airbus UK Broughton.

Ella Jones’ hat-trick inspired Llandudno to a convincing 6-1 home win over in the reverse fixture between the two sides in January.

Felinheli and Rhyl 1879 meet again just a week after Aaron Jones-Evans’ side defeated the Lilywhites 4-1 at Belle Vue.

That was a sixth consecutive league win for Felinheli, an impressive streak which has seen them climb to second place in the Genero Adran North and only three points behind leaders Llandudno.

Rhyl currently sit in fifth place, but with four matches remaining of the campaign they will be targeting a top-half finish. A victory on Sunday, which would be just their second league away win of the season, would go a long way towards that.

Third-placed Connah’s Quay Nomads will also be looking to keep up the chase on the top two when they make the short trip to Ffordd Derwen Playing Fields to face NFA.

Youngsters Polly Wild-McGregor and Sophie Rawling scored four goals each and Kirstie Kural bagged a hat-trick as the Nomads stormed past Llanfair 14-0 last weekend, which was the perfect response following back-to-back defeats to Felinheli and Llandudno.

Jordan Parry’s side now sit six points behind Llandudno with a game in hand, so they will need a slip up from the Seasiders if they are to get their hands on the title.

It has been a strong start to 2024 for NFA, who have won three of their five matches since the turn of the year – including back-to-back wins over Airbus and Bangor most recently to climb up to fourth in the table.

A hat-trick has been scored in all three of the Nomads’ wins over NFA this season. Shannon Hobbs’ treble inspired them to 6-0 win in the Genero Adran Trophy, Phoebe Ellis scored three in a 5-1 win in the NEWFA Cup before Sophie Hodson starred in a 5-2 win in November’s reverse league fixture.
