Genero Adran Premier round-up | Barry Town United snatch late draw against Swansea City

Ellie Gunney scored a stoppage-time equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw for Barry Town United against Swansea City at Jenner Park on Sunday.

Barry broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when Ingrid Ådland played through Erin Murray to finish coolly past Charlotte Haynes, but the Swans turned the game around in the space of 13 minutes early in the second half as Stacey John-Davis fired home a loose ball in the box and Emily Richards rounded Molly Arnesen to slot in via the post.

Aimee Deacon thought she had added a third for the visitors when she turned home John-Davis’ cross, but the offside flag was raised.

That would prove costly for the Swans as Gunney headed home Carys Bufton’s corner to equalise in the third minute of stoppage time, earning a point which lifted Barry into the top half.

Genero Adran Premier leaders Cardiff City claimed their third straight league victory as Fiona Barry’s brace inspired a 4-1 win over Cardiff Met at Cyncoed.

Barry put the Bluebirds in front midway through the first half with a left-footed strike into the bottom corner, which remained the difference between the two sides at the break.

City took firm control of the contest with two goals in as many minutes early in the second half, as Eliza Collie slotted home her fifth league goal of the season and Barry completed her brace with a chip over Met goalkeeper Charlotte Smith.

Former Bluebirds forward India Shanahan gave Met a lifeline with her sweet strike on the hour mark, but Ffion Price clinched the three points for the champions from the penalty spot after Laura Curnock was fouled in the box.

The New Saints maintained the pressure on the Bluebirds as Lexi Jones’ goal proved enough to give Shauna Duffy’s side a 1-0 win over Wrexham at Park Hall.

The decisive moment arrived in first half stoppage time when Chantelle Teare’s cross into the six-yard box was fired home by Jones in the midst of a goalmouth scramble.

The Saints saw out the remainder of the match to claim their first clean sheet at home this season and end Wrexham’s five-match winning streak in all competitions.
